Towel Service Never Runs Empty At Six

Bath, hand and sweat towels collected and returned on a fixed round, in the volumes a gym floor actually gets through — so the rack is still full at the evening peak.

What goes wrong

An empty towel rack at six is the complaint you hear about

Gyms and spas rarely change supplier over price. They change after a run of evenings where the rack was empty at peak, or a batch came back smelling of damp.

  • Running out at the evening peak

Towel demand is not spread across the day — it stacks into two hours. A par count set on daily average leaves the rack empty exactly when the floor is busiest.

  • Towels that come back smelling

Sweat and body oil build up in the fibre and a general wash does not shift them. The towel smells clean warm and damp an hour later, which members notice before you do.

  • Stock that never quite balances

Towels walk. Every gym loses some, and an account that does not plan for shrinkage turns into a monthly argument about counts.

How it works

Four steps from first call to first collection

Most of the work happens before the first collection. Get the peak-hour count right and the towel rack stops being something the duty manager thinks about.

Serving London Since 2009
  1. The count

We count against your peak, not your average — a Monday evening and a Sunday morning are different businesses, and the par level has to survive both.

    An hour, on site

  2. The round

Your area already has a collection day. We fit you to it and agree a time that lands before the evening rush rather than during it.

    Fixed days, agreed

  3. The switch

Stock arrives before the old supplier is stood down, so there is never an evening with an empty rack.

    No gap in service

  4. The account

A named account manager who knows your site — seasonal changes and January volume go through one person, not a form.

    One name, not a queue

Running more than one club? The same account manager covers all of them, on staggered days so no site is left short.

How it is processed

Your towels are not subcontracted

There are two buildings between your towels and ours, and we own both: a production plant in Wembley and our Harrow site. Nothing is passed to a third party in between.

Gym towelling is its own classification. Sweat and body oil need a different wash to bed linen or table linen — get it wrong and the towel smells clean until it warms up.

Switching supplier without an empty rack

Most clubs stay with a supplier they have stopped rating, because changing one feels like a risk in the one week membership is highest. It is not.

  1. Before you commit

We count your peak, not your average

An hour on site at the time it actually matters. Towel demand stacks into two hours, and an average hides exactly that.

  2. The handover

Stock lands before the old supplier stops

You are never between suppliers. The new stock is on the shelf before the last collection of the old contract.

  3. After

Par counts adjust once we have seen a month

First counts are an estimate. After four weeks we set them against what you actually used, including what walked out of the door.

Nothing here needs you to be out of contract first — the count and the quote cost nothing.

Spa robes and folded towels ready for guests

The week you switch is the week nobody notices.

What London businesses actually say

4.7/5

  • Whether we are catering a wedding or a corporate launch, linen presentation has to be immaculate. We get crisp, vacuum-sealed table linens and pristine chef jackets every time — a genuine operational ally.
Julian Bennett Executive Director of Operations · Catering & event production
  • Running a high-end spa means going through hundreds of bathrobes and spa towels daily. Our rotation stays fully stocked with exceptionally soft, hygienically pristine textiles. Guest comfort has noticeably improved since we switched.
Siobhan O'Connor Spa Operations Director · Luxury health club & spa
  • Our members expect fresh sweat towels immediately after back-to-back spinning classes. They handle our daily volume seamlessly, and I would single out the punctuality and the clean, long-lasting scent of the eco-friendly detergents.
Marcus Thorne Studio Manager · Boutique fitness studio
  • We rely on clean bolster covers, fleece blankets and eye pillows. Delicate fabrics are treated with care while still getting a deep, hypoallergenic sanitisation, and everything comes back beautifully presented.
Hannah Sterling Studio Coordinator · Yoga & pilates studio
  • LP Laundry has been an absolute game-changer for our 45-room boutique hotel. Turnaround on our bed linens and heavy plush towels is inside 24 hours without a single delay. We could not be happier with the crisp, immaculate finish.
Charlotte Vance Front of House & Accommodation Manager · 45-room boutique hotel
  • For high-end short-stay apartments, guest reviews live and die by linen quality. We get hotel-grade crispness that consistently earns us five-star cleanliness ratings, and the communication lines are short when something needs resolving.
Beatrice Dupont Head of Housekeeping · Luxury serviced apartments
  • Table presentation is everything in Mayfair. They handle our heavy cotton damask tablecloths and chef whites with real precision — stains vanish and the starch finish is always spot on. The daily collection has never let us down.
Mateo Rossi Restaurant General Manager · Fine dining restaurant
  • In clinical and aesthetic practice, hygiene standards have to meet rigorous compliance. High-temperature sanitised gowns, drapes and bed covers arrive reliably every week. I trust their quality control completely.
Dr Elena Rostova Clinic Director · Private healthcare clinic

Gym & spa towels — the questions we get most

Do you cover my area?

We run fixed rounds across London and the Home Counties — 1,034 areas, up to roughly 100 miles from our plants, taking in around 7,845 gyms, spas and sports clubs.

  • Your area already has a collection day. We fit you to the round that already passes rather than adding a separate journey, which is why a single studio costs much the same per towel as a large club.
  • Every area has its own page carrying that area's collection days, the distance from our plant and the venues already on that round.
  • Multi-site operators run on staggered days, so no club is left short while another is being collected from.
  • Outside the ring? Tell us where — if a round already passes nearby it is usually still workable.
Why do towels come back smelling clean but go damp-smelling later?

Because sweat and body oil build up in the fibre and a general wash does not shift them. The towel smells fine cold and dry, then smells again once it is warm and damp — which a member notices before you do.

  • Gym towelling runs on its own classification here, not as the tail end of a bed linen load.
  • Oil needs a different temperature from sweat, and softener makes it worse by coating the fibre — which is why we do not use it on gym stock.
  • Towels that stop absorbing are usually over-softened, not worn out. That is a wash problem, not a replacement problem.
  • Every load is temperature logged, so there is a record behind the classification rather than an assurance.
What happens about towels that go missing?

Every gym loses towels, and an account that pretends otherwise turns into a monthly argument about counts. We plan for shrinkage rather than dispute it.

  • Expected loss is built into the par count at setup, so the rack does not empty because the maths assumed nothing walked.
  • You get the actual numbers each cycle rather than a running balance nobody can reconcile.
  • A sudden jump in loss is worth knowing about — it usually means a change on the floor rather than a laundry problem.
  • On hire, fair wear is our cost, not a charge back to you.
What does a towel account cost?

It is quoted, not tariffed. Towel volume depends on member numbers and how hard the floor turns over, so a published price list would be wrong for most clubs.

  • We count a real week before quoting, rather than pricing off your last invoice — the invoice records what you were sold, not what you used.
  • The count includes your peak, which is where most estimates fall over.
  • No minimum order, so a boutique studio is an ordinary account and is priced per item like any other.
  • The count and the quote cost nothing and commit you to nothing, including while you are still under contract elsewhere.
How do you stop us running out at peak?

By counting against your peak rather than your daily average. Towel demand does not spread evenly across opening hours — it stacks into roughly two hours, and an average hides exactly that.

  • We count on site at the time it matters, not from a figure on your last invoice.
  • A Monday evening and a Sunday morning are different businesses. The par level has to survive both, so it is set against the worse of the two.
  • January is planned in. New-year membership is the most predictable spike in the trade and it should never be handled as an emergency.
  • If you run short twice, the count is wrong — we reset it against real usage rather than the opening estimate.
Do you hire towels, or only launder ours?

Both, and mixed accounts are normal. One collection covers whichever way each line is set up, on one invoice.

  • Hire means we own the stock, replace what wears out and carry the cost of a towel that greys in month two.
  • Wash-only means your own branded stock comes back to you — the same items, not pooled or swapped from general stock.
  • Most clubs split it: hired gym towels where nobody reads a label, own branded robes in the spa where the branding is the point.
  • You can move a line between the two later without reopening the account.
Can you handle a spa as well as a gym floor?

Yes, and they are genuinely different jobs on the same account. A gym floor wants volume and absorbency; a spa wants handle and appearance.

  • Robes are laundered to keep their handle, which is a different process from turning round sweat towels at volume.
  • Bath mats run on a heavier classification than towelling, because wet-area linen takes a different kind of soil.
  • One collection, one invoice, even where the two sides of the building want different specs.
  • Hotel spas are a normal account — the bed linen side can go on the same round.
Are we tied into a long contract?

No long-term tie-in and no exit fee. The account should hold because it works, not because leaving is expensive.

  • Terms flex with seasonal demand rather than holding you to a January volume through a quiet August.
  • Nothing needs you to be out of your current contract first — the count and the quote commit you to nothing.
  • Stock arrives before the old supplier is stood down, so there is never an evening with an empty rack.
  • If it is not working, say so. Most problems are a wrong par count or a wrong delivery window, and both are fixable without changing supplier.

Something specific to your club?

The greenest wash is the one you do not repeat

Most of the environmental cost of gym towelling is rewashing and replacing it. Getting the classification right the first time does more than any claim on a van.

  • Fixed rounds mean shared journeys rather than a separate trip per club.
  • Towelling washed without softener keeps absorbing, so it is replaced on wear rather than on feel.
  • Hire stock is rotated through its full life rather than binned when it greys.
