What goes wrong
Chef whites in Bow are the first thing anyone looks at
Kitchens in Bow rarely leave a supplier over price. They leave after a run of weeks where the whites came back grey, the sizes were wrong, or the van arrived mid-prep.
-
Whites that are not actually white
Kitchen soil is grease, protein and scorch, and it does not come out on a general cycle. Grey jackets read as a hygiene problem to anyone who walks in, whether or not the kitchen behind them is spotless.
-
Sizes that turn into a scramble
A box of mixed whites at the start of a shift is a box someone has to sort. Named and sized garments on a rail take that job off the pass entirely.
-
Deliveries that land mid-prep
Prep is the worst possible window and it is the one most suppliers hit. The E3 round is sequenced to miss it.
How it works
Four steps to a Bow kitchen on the round
Most of the work happens before the first collection. Get the sizing and the timing right and the service stops being something the pass has to think about.
-
The count
Every section sized in person. Sizing is where most kitchen accounts go wrong, and it is not something a form gets right.
An hour, on site
-
The round
E3 already has a collection day. We fit you to it and agree a time that sits outside prep and outside service.
E3 · 7 days

The switch
The changeover in Bow overlaps by design — the new rail is hung while the old contract is still running.
No gap in service
-
The account
One name, who has walked your kitchen. A new commis goes on the account with a call rather than an order cycle.
One name, not a queue
Running more than one kitchen around Tower Hamlets? The same account manager covers all of them, on staggered days so no site is left short.
How it is processed
Bow kitchen linen is not subcontracted
There are two buildings between your linen and ours, and we own both. Bow collections run 11.4 miles to our Wembley plant. Nothing is passed to a third party in between.
Kitchen soil is classified separately from front of house. Grease, protein and scorch need their own wash and their own temperature, so chef whites never run through whatever cycle the table linen was on.

Changing supplier is not the Friday risk Bow chefs think
The reason Bow head chefs put up with a supplier they have stopped rating is timing: there is no good week to gamble. That is a scheduling problem, not a reason to stay.
- Before you commit
We size the brigade properly
We size the Bow brigade in person rather than take a headcount off an invoice — the invoice tells us what you were sold, not what fits.
- The handover
Whites land before the old supplier stops
The two contracts overlap on purpose, so no Bow section starts a shift on borrowed jackets.
- After
New starters go on the account the same week
Brigades change constantly. The account is set up so a new starter is a phone call, not a reorder.
Nothing here needs you to be out of contract first — the count and the quote cost nothing.
The week you switch is the week nobody notices.

Local knowledge
Why Bow is collected the way it is
A traditional East End heartland undergoing rapid modern transformation near the Olympic Park. Unique to Bow.
What makes Bow its own job is the service pattern rather than the distance. The round is planned to miss prep, which is when a delivery is least welcome.

Kitchen laundry in Bow — what head chefs ask
Is Bow on a kitchen round?
Yes — Bow sits on the E3 round, 7 days, 11.4 miles from our Wembley plant.
- Shared with Mile End, Old Ford and Bromley By Bow — the same vehicle covers them, so a brigade here can be added without moving anyone else.
- The driver knows the service entrances around Mile End, Bow Road and Bow Church — the same crew runs it weekly, so nobody is looking for your back door.
- A missed window here is picked up on the next round rather than the next week, because of that distance.
- 177 kitchens around E3 are already on this round — we are not learning the area on your account.
Why do our jackets go grey?
Separately, and at its own temperature.
- Grease, protein and scorch need their own wash — grease lifts at a different temperature from protein, and scorch responds to neither.
- Whites never run through the cycle the table linen was on — which is the usual reason jackets go grey.
- Colour-coded cloths stay in their own classification — through the whole process.
- Every load is temperature logged — so there is a record behind the classification rather than an assurance.
What would a Bow brigade cost to kit out?
It is quoted, not tariffed. Kitchen work is priced on the brigade and the covers, so a published list would be a guess.
- We count a real week in Bow before quoting — rather than pricing off your last invoice.
- No minimum order — size barely moves the per-garment price.
- The count includes your busy season — a Bow kitchen quoted off a quiet month runs short in the one that matters.
- The count and the quote cost nothing — we will count your week while you are still under someone else.
Are contract caterers on the round?
Yes — catering kitchens are a large part of what we collect.
- 33 school kitchens around E3 are already on the round — the classification and the paperwork already suit that kind of site.
- 6 care home kitchens nearby — with the same named-garment handling.
- Colour-coded cloths and named whites — suit sites that need an audit trail.
- Contract caterers running several sites — get one account manager and staggered collection days across the group.
A new commis starts Monday — how fast can you kit them out?
Sizing is where most kitchen accounts go wrong, so we do it on site.
- Every section is sized at setup — including the sections that get through two a shift.
- A new commis goes on the account the same week — brigades in Bow change constantly, and the account is built for that.
- Garments are named — which takes the sorting job off the pass entirely.
- Par counts are re-set after the first month — against what the brigade actually used, because any opening count is an estimate.
Can you deliver outside prep and service?
Yes — the E3 round is sequenced around service patterns.
- The time is agreed when the account opens — against your service pattern, not ours.
- Timed around Mile End because that is where the delay actually happens.
- If a drop is missed, a missed window here is picked up on the next round rather than the next week.
- A relief driver inherits the window with the route — the timing is a property of the account, not of one driver remembering it.
Is there a minimum term?
No long-term tie-in and no exit fee.
- Terms flex with seasonal demand — Bow in August and Bow in January are different kitchens, and the account should say so.
- Nothing needs you to be out of your current contract first — the count and the quote commit you to nothing.
- Stock arrives before the old supplier is stood down — so no Bow section starts a shift without whites.
- If it is not working, say so — most problems are a wrong par count or a wrong delivery window, and both are fixable without changing supplier.
Can we keep our own embroidered jackets in Bow?
Both, and mixed accounts are normal. Plenty of Bow kitchens run half and half.
- Hire — we own the garments, replace them on wear and manage sizing as the brigade changes.
- Wash-only — your own embroidered jackets come back to you, the same garments, named, not pooled.
- Plenty of kitchens do both — the embroidery matters on the jacket, rarely on the oven cloth.
- You can move a line between the two later — without reopening the account or renegotiating anything.
Something specific to your Bow kitchen?
Ask us directlyGetting it right first time in Bow
Most of the environmental cost of kitchen linen is rewashing and replacing it. Classifying kitchen soil properly the first time does more than any claim on a van.
- One vehicle covers E3, so adding Bow adds a stop rather than a journey.
- Getting grease and protein out first time is what stops jackets being binned early.
- Hire garments are repaired and rotated rather than binned at the first scorch mark.
