What goes wrong
Towel demand in Calcot is not spread across the day
Clubs in Calcot rarely leave a supplier over price. They leave after a run of evenings where the rack was empty at peak, or a batch came back smelling of damp.
-
Running out at the evening peak
Towel demand stacks into roughly two hours rather than spreading across opening. A par count set on a daily average leaves the Calcot rack empty exactly when the floor is busiest.
-
Towels that come back smelling
Sweat and body oil build up in the fibre and a general wash does not shift them. The towel smells clean cold, then smells again once it is warm and damp — which a member notices before you do.
-
Stock that never quite balances
Towels walk. Every Calcot club loses some, and an account that does not plan for shrinkage turns into a monthly argument about counts.
How it works
Four steps, and the Calcot rack stops being your problem
Most of the work happens before the first collection. Get the peak-hour count right and the towel rack stops being something the duty manager thinks about.
-
The count
We count at peak because that is the only hour the par level has to survive. Every other hour looks fine on any count.

RG31 already has a collection day. We fit you to it and agree a time that lands before the evening rush rather than during it.

The account
A named account manager who knows your site and the RG31 round — January volume and seasonal changes go through one person, not a form.
One name, not a queue
Running more than one club around West Berkshire? The same account manager covers all of them, on staggered days so no site is left short.
How it is processed
No third party touches Calcot gym towelling
There are two buildings between your towels and ours, and we own both. Calcot collections run 33.7 miles to our Wembley plant. Nothing is passed to a third party in between.
What comes off a Calcot gym floor is not what comes off a hotel bed. Body oil needs its own temperature and no softener, so towelling is classified separately rather than run at the tail of a linen load.

Changing supplier is not the January risk Calcot clubs think
The reason Calcot operators put up with a supplier they have stopped rating is timing: there is no good week to gamble on towels. That is a scheduling problem, not a reason to stay.
- Before you commit
We count your peak, not your average
We count the Calcot floor between five and seven rather than take a number off your last invoice — the invoice records what you were sold, not what the rack needed.
- The handover
Stock lands before the old supplier stops
The two contracts overlap on purpose, so no Calcot evening is covered by rationing what is left on the rack.
- After
Par counts adjust once we have seen a month
First counts are an estimate. After four weeks we set them against what you actually used, including what walked out of the door.
Nothing here needs you to be out of contract first — the count and the quote cost nothing.
The week you switch is the week nobody notices.

Our members expect fresh sweat towels immediately after back-to-back spinning classes. They handle our daily volume seamlessly, and I would single out the punctuality and the clean, long-lasting scent of the eco-friendly detergents.

LP Laundry has been an absolute game-changer for our 45-room boutique hotel. Turnaround on our bed linens and heavy plush towels is inside 24 hours without a single delay. We could not be happier with the crisp, immaculate finish.

For high-end short-stay apartments, guest reviews live and die by linen quality. We get hotel-grade crispness that consistently earns us five-star cleanliness ratings, and the communication lines are short when something needs resolving.

The area
Calcot — what the round has to work around
A bustling suburban residential and retail area perfectly positioned at the gateway to Reading West. Unique to Calcot.
What makes Calcot its own job is when the demand lands. Towel volume stacks into two hours, so the round is timed against that rather than against the distance.

Calcot questions, answered
Can you reach Calcot 7 days?
Yes — Calcot sits on the RG31 round, 7 days, 33.7 miles from our Wembley plant.
- Shared with Tilehurst, Theale and Tidmarsh — adding you changes the schedule, not the route.
- Collections here run to scheduled days, agreed when the account opens, which is what 33.7 miles buys you.
- 2 clubs and spas around RG31 are already on this round — we are not learning the area on your account.
How is the par count set for a Calcot club?
The par count is set on your busiest two hours, not on an average day. A Calcot floor gets through more between five and seven than across the rest of the day combined.
- We count on site at the time it matters — an hour on the Calcot floor at peak tells us more than a year of delivery notes.
- A Monday evening and a Sunday morning are different businesses — and a single number that averages them fails on the busier one.
- January is planned in — the one spike everyone knows is coming is the one worth building into the count.
- If you run short twice, the count is wrong — we reset it against real usage rather than the opening estimate.
What is the difference between hire and wash-only in RG31?
Both, and mixed accounts are normal. The two sit on one invoice and one round.
- Hire — the rack is maintained for you, including the towels that fail first.
- Wash-only — item for item, never substituted.
- Most clubs split it — the logo matters on a robe, rarely on a sweat towel.
- You can move a line between the two later — clubs often start on hire and move the spa side across once branding is settled.
Can wet-area mats go on the same collection?
Yes, and they are genuinely different jobs on the same account. The gym side is judged on whether the rack is full; the spa side on how the robe feels.
- Robes are laundered to keep their handle — softness is the point on a robe, and it is achieved by the wash rather than by softener.
- Bath mats run on a heavier classification — and they are counted separately for the same reason.
- One collection, one invoice — the split is in the classification, not in the account.
- Hotel spas are a normal account — the bed linen side can go on the same round.
Are we tied into a long contract?
No long-term tie-in and no exit fee. Nothing in the agreement is designed to make leaving awkward.
- Terms flex with seasonal demand — you are not held to a peak figure through a quiet quarter.
- Nothing needs you to be out of your current contract first — the count and the quote commit you to nothing.
- Stock arrives before the old supplier is stood down — the two overlap by design.
- If it is not working, say so — most problems are a wrong par count or a wrong delivery window, and both are fixable without changing supplier.
Why do towels smell clean but go damp-smelling later?
Because sweat and body oil build up in the fibre and a general wash does not shift them. A towel can pass inspection dry and fail it in use, because oil only announces itself once the towel warms up.
- Gym towelling runs on its own classification — the programme is chosen for body oil rather than inherited from whatever ran before.
- Oil needs a different temperature from sweat — and softener makes it worse by coating the fibre, which is why we do not use it on gym stock.
- Towels that stop absorbing are usually over-softened, not worn out — that is a wash problem, not a replacement problem.
- Every load is temperature logged — which matters if you are ever asked to show how stock is handled.
How do you handle shrinkage?
Shrinkage is normal and predictable. We plan for it rather than dispute it.
- Expected loss is built into the par count at setup — which is the difference between a working count and an optimistic one.
- You get the actual numbers each cycle — in and out, per collection, so the figure is checkable.
- A sudden jump in loss is worth knowing about — a step change in shrinkage is information, not an invoice line.
- On hire, fair wear is our cost — not a charge back to you.
Is there a price list for towel hire?
There is no honest price list for towel work. Towel volume depends on member numbers and how hard the floor turns over, so a published list would be wrong for most clubs.
- We count a real week in Calcot before quoting — including the evening peak, which is where every estimate falls over.
- The count includes January — which is the one spike everybody knows is coming and most quotes ignore.
- No minimum order — a small Calcot studio pays the same per towel as a club ten times the size.
- The count and the quote cost nothing — including while you are still under contract elsewhere.
Something specific to your Calcot club?
Ask us directlyThe cheapest wash for Calcot is the second one you avoid
Most of the environmental cost of gym towelling is rewashing and replacing it. Getting the classification right the first time does more than any claim on a van.
- One vehicle covers RG31, so adding Calcot adds a stop rather than a journey.
- Keeping the fibre clear is what stops stock being replaced before its time.
- Hire stock is rotated through its full life rather than binned when it greys.
