What goes wrong
A cafe runs on cloths nobody in Datchet wants to think about
Cafes in Datchet rarely leave a supplier over price. They leave after a run of mornings that started badly.
-
Deliveries that land after opening
A cafe opens earlier than almost anything else on the street. A drop timed for mid-morning is a drop that missed the shift it was for, and in Datchet that means serving the first hours on yesterday's cloths.
-
Cloths that come back grey
Coffee oil, milk protein and syrup are not the same soil as food service. Washed on a general cycle they build up, whites go dull within weeks, and the counter is where it shows.
-
Running short on the busy day
Par counts set on a quiet Tuesday leave you short on Saturday. Most Datchet cafes are not short of linen overall — they are short of it twice a week.
How it works
Four steps to a Datchet cafe on the round
Most of the work happens before the first collection. Get the count and the timing right and the service stops being something you manage.
-
The count
We look at a real week in Datchet: how many aprons a shift gets through, what is still in the wash when you open, and which two days you run short.
Half an hour, on site
-
The round
The van is already in SL3. Joining that round is what keeps a single-site cafe priced as a stop rather than a journey.
SL3 · 7 days
-
The switch
Stock arrives before the old supplier is stood down, so there is never a morning with nothing clean on the shelf.
No gap in service
-
The account
One name, who has seen your counter and knows the SL3 driver. Problems get solved on a call rather than logged.
One name, not a queue
Running more than one site around Windsor and Maidenhead? The same account manager covers all of them, on staggered days so no site is left short.
How it is processed
Nothing from Datchet leaves our own plants
There are two buildings between your linen and ours, and we own both. Datchet collections run 13.6 miles to our Wembley plant. Nothing is passed to a third party in between.
Cafe work is classified separately here. Milk protein sets if it is washed too hot and builds up if it is washed too cool, so Datchet cloths run on a cycle chosen for them rather than inherited from the previous load.

A Datchet switch nobody behind the counter notices
Most Datchet cafes stay with a supplier they have stopped rating, because changing one feels like a risk on the one morning you cannot afford it. It is not.
- Before you commit
We count a real week, not an average one
Half an hour on site: what goes out on a Saturday, what is still in the wash on Monday, and where you run short.
- The handover
Stock lands before the old supplier stops
You are never between suppliers. New stock is on the shelf before the last collection of the old contract.
- After
Par counts adjust once we have seen a month
Any first count is a guess. The difference is whether anyone comes back and corrects it — after four weeks, we do.
Nothing here needs you to be out of contract first — the count and the quote cost nothing.
The week you switch is the week nobody notices.

In clinical and aesthetic practice, hygiene standards have to meet rigorous compliance. High-temperature sanitised gowns, drapes and bed covers arrive reliably every week. I trust their quality control completely.
Dr Elena Rostova Clinic Director · Private healthcare clinic -
For high-end short-stay apartments, guest reviews live and die by linen quality. We get hotel-grade crispness that consistently earns us five-star cleanliness ratings, and the communication lines are short when something needs resolving.
Beatrice Dupont Head of Housekeeping · Luxury serviced apartments -
We use dozens of salon towels and client gowns every day. Stubborn hair dye and product stains come out effortlessly and our capes still look new. They are an indispensable part of the daily flow here.
Chloe St. Laurent Salon Owner & Manager · Hair & beauty salon -
We rely on clean bolster covers, fleece blankets and eye pillows. Delicate fabrics are treated with care while still getting a deep, hypoallergenic sanitisation, and everything comes back beautifully presented.

From velvet seat throws to staff aprons and heavy bar towels, our eclectic mix of textiles is handled without fuss. The turnaround times and the account management are what stand out.

As a family-run Victorian B&B we need a partner who understands traditional hospitality. Our heritage cotton sheets are treated with real care, the drivers are friendly and the weekly delivery is consistent.

Back-to-back conferences and galas mean huge quantities of table skirts, stage linens and catering napkins at short notice. They have never missed a deadline on any of it.

Grooming generates heavy, fur-filled towels and specialist bedding that a standard machine cannot handle. Everything is collected and returned allergen-free, fluffy and sterilised. Top marks for taking on the difficult jobs.

Local knowledge
Datchet, specifically
A prestigious riverside village with royal connections and an iconic village green. Unique to Datchet.
What makes Datchet its own job is how early it starts. The round is planned so the aprons are on the shelf before the first coffee, not halfway through the morning.

Datchet questions, answered
Which round covers Datchet?
Yes — Datchet sits on the SL3 round, 7 days, 13.6 miles from our Wembley plant.
- Shared with Windsor, Eton and Horton — adding you changes the schedule, not the route.
- The driver knows the streets around Datchet — route knowledge is most of what separates a kept window from a missed one.
- A missed window here is picked up on the next round rather than the next week, because of that distance.
Is there a minimum term?
No long-term tie-in and no exit fee.
- Terms flex with seasonal demand — Datchet in February and Datchet in July are different businesses, and the account should say so.
- Nothing needs you to be out of your current contract first — there is no cost to finding out what it would look like.
- Stock arrives before the old supplier is stood down — so there is never a morning in Datchet with nothing clean.
Are we too small an account in Datchet?
No minimum, on any line. A one-site independent is the normal shape of a cafe account.
- Small sites go on the same SL3 round — which is why size barely moves the per-item price.
- 6 cafes around SL3 are already on it — the vehicle is sized for this kind of work rather than adapted to it.
- Volume changes are expected — the account flexes rather than holding you to a floor.
Is apron hire available to Datchet cafes?
Both, and mixed accounts are normal. One collection covers whichever way each line is set up.
- Hire — we own the stock, replace it as it wears and keep the par count topped up.
- Wash-only — item for item, never substituted.
- Plenty of cafes do both — hire what nobody sees, keep your own name on what the customer does.
We run short on Saturdays — what then?
Tell your account manager and a missed window here is picked up on the next round rather than the next week.
- If it happens twice, the par count is wrong — we reset it against what you actually used, not what was estimated at setup.
- Most Datchet cafes are not short of linen overall — the weekly total is fine; the weekend distribution is not.
- Seasonal swings are planned in — Datchet in December is not Datchet in February, and the par count should know that.
We have a small kitchen — same round?
No. Kitchen cloths and table linen go on the same SL3 collection and the same invoice.
- No second supplier and no second delivery day — one account covers both sides of the counter.
- Chef whites, oven cloths and table linen — all available on the same account, hire or wash-only.
- 7 restaurants around SL3 are on this round too — we are not learning kitchen work on your account.
When does the SL3 round reach Datchet?
Before you open, because that is how the SL3 round is ordered. Cafes open earlier than almost anything else we serve.
- The time is agreed when the account opens — it goes on the round sheet, not into a delivery window.
- Timed around Datchet and the traffic that comes with it.
- If a drop is missed, a missed window here is picked up on the next round rather than the next week.
Why do our whites go grey?
Because cafe soil is chemically different from kitchen soil. Run on the wrong programme they accumulate rather than lift.
- Cafe cloths and aprons run on their own classification — the programme is chosen for them, not inherited.
- Milk protein needs the right temperature, not just a hotter one — past a point, heat bonds the protein to the cloth.
- Grey whites are usually a wash problem, not an age problem — if stock is replaced every few months, the cycle is wrong.
Something specific to your Datchet cafe?
Ask us directlyGetting it right first time in Datchet
Most of the environmental cost of cafe linen is rewashing and replacing it. Getting the classification right the first time does more than any claim on a van.
- Datchet is a stop on a round that was already running, not a van dispatched for one site.
- Cafe cloths washed on their own classification last longer before replacement.
- A marked apron is repaired and put back into rotation, not written off.
