What goes wrong
An empty rack at six is the Hampton complaint you hear about
Almost nobody around TW1 changes towel supplier to save money. They change because the same thing went wrong three weeks running.
-
Running out at the evening peak
Between five and seven the rack empties faster than the rest of the day combined. An average hides that completely, which is why average-based counts fail at peak.
-
Towels that come back smelling
Sweat and body oil build up in the fibre and a general wash does not shift them. The towel smells clean cold, then smells again once it is warm and damp — which a member notices before you do.
-
Stock that never quite balances
Towels walk. Every Hampton club loses some, and an account that does not plan for shrinkage turns into a monthly argument about counts.
How it works
Getting a Hampton club onto the round
Most of the work happens before the first collection. Get the peak-hour count right and the towel rack stops being something the duty manager thinks about.
-
The count
We count against your peak rather than your average — a Monday evening and a Sunday morning in Hampton are different businesses, and the par level has to survive both.
An hour, at peak
-
The round
TW1 already has a collection day. We fit you to it and agree a time that lands before the evening rush rather than during it.
TW1 · 7 days
-
The switch
Stock arrives before the old supplier is stood down, so there is never an evening with an empty rack.
No gap in service
-
The account
A named account manager who knows your site and the TW1 round — January volume and seasonal changes go through one person, not a form.
One name, not a queue
Running more than one club around Richmond upon Thames? The same account manager covers all of them, on staggered days so no site is left short.
How it is processed
No third party touches Hampton gym towelling
There are two buildings between your towels and ours, and we own both. Hampton collections run 8.0 miles to our Wembley plant. Nothing is passed to a third party in between.
What comes off a Hampton gym floor is not what comes off a hotel bed. Body oil needs its own temperature and no softener, so towelling is classified separately rather than run at the tail of a linen load.

A Hampton switch nobody on the floor notices
Most Hampton clubs stay with a supplier they have stopped rating, because changing one feels like a risk in the week membership is highest. It is not.
- Before you commit
We count your peak, not your average
We count the Hampton floor between five and seven rather than take a number off your last invoice — the invoice records what you were sold, not what the rack needed.
- The handover
Stock lands before the old supplier stops
You are never between suppliers. New stock is on the shelf before the last collection of the old contract.
- After
Par counts adjust once we have seen a month
First counts are an estimate. After four weeks we set them against what you actually used, including what walked out of the door.
Nothing here needs you to be out of contract first — the count and the quote cost nothing.
The week you switch is the week nobody notices.

Grooming generates heavy, fur-filled towels and specialist bedding that a standard machine cannot handle. Everything is collected and returned allergen-free, fluffy and sterilised. Top marks for taking on the difficult jobs.

Local knowledge
Hampton — what the round has to work around
An energetic part of Hampton featuring a mix of historic architecture and modern living. Unique to Hampton.
Clubs here sit on the TW1 round, and the hour that matters is the evening peak rather than the morning — Hampton is close enough that a disrupted run is a second trip that day.

Gym & spa towels in Hampton — what operators ask
Can you reach Hampton 7 days?
Yes — Hampton sits on the TW1 round, 7 days, 8.0 miles from our Wembley plant.
- Shared with Strawberry Hill, St Margarets and Twickenham — adding you changes the schedule, not the route.
- The driver knows the streets around Strawberry Hill, St Margarets and Twickenham — which matters when the drop has to land before the evening rush.
- A missed window here is picked up on the next round rather than the next week, which is what 8.0 miles buys you.
- 20 clubs and spas around TW1 are already on this round — so the vehicle is sized for towel volume rather than adapted to it.
Are we tied into a long contract?
No long-term tie-in and no exit fee. We would rather keep you on the service than on the paperwork.
- Terms flex with seasonal demand — Hampton in January and Hampton in August are different clubs, and the account should say so.
- Nothing needs you to be out of your current contract first — the count and the quote commit you to nothing.
- Stock arrives before the old supplier is stood down — so there is never a Hampton evening with an empty rack.
- If it is not working, say so — we would rather correct the account than lose it.
Why do towels smell clean but go damp-smelling later?
Because the wash was wrong, not because the towel is finished. A towel can pass inspection dry and fail it in use, because oil only announces itself once the towel warms up.
- Gym towelling runs on its own classification — not as the tail end of a bed linen load.
- Oil needs a different temperature from sweat — and softener makes it worse by coating the fibre, which is why we do not use it on gym stock.
- Towels that stop absorbing are usually over-softened, not worn out — that is a wash problem, not a replacement problem.
- Every load is temperature logged — which matters if you are ever asked to show how stock is handled.
How do you handle shrinkage?
Shrinkage is normal and predictable. We plan for it rather than dispute it.
- Expected loss is built into the par count at setup — which is the difference between a working count and an optimistic one.
- You get the actual numbers each cycle — in and out, per collection, so the figure is checkable.
- A sudden jump in loss is worth knowing about — and we would rather flag it than absorb it quietly.
- On hire, fair wear is our cost — not a charge back to you.
Is there a price list for towel hire?
There is no honest price list for towel work. The number follows turnover, not floor area.
- We count a real week in Hampton before quoting — the invoice records what you were sold, not what you used.
- The count includes January — a Hampton club quoted off an August week runs short in the month that matters.
- No minimum order — size barely moves the per-item price.
- The count and the quote cost nothing — including while you are still under contract elsewhere.
How is the par count set for a Hampton club?
The par count is set on your busiest two hours, not on an average day. Every other hour looks fine on any count, which is why averages keep passing and racks keep emptying.
- We count on site at the time it matters — an hour on the Hampton floor at peak tells us more than a year of delivery notes.
- A Monday evening and a Sunday morning are different businesses — which is why the count is taken twice rather than once.
- January is planned in — the one spike everyone knows is coming is the one worth building into the count.
- If you run short twice, the count is wrong — we reset it against real usage rather than the opening estimate.
What is the difference between hire and wash-only in TW1?
Both, and mixed accounts are normal. Plenty of Hampton clubs run half and half.
- Hire — stock, replacement and shrinkage planning are ours; you never reorder.
- Wash-only — the same towels that left Hampton, never swapped into general stock.
- Most clubs split it — hired gym towels where nobody reads a label, own-branded robes in the spa where the branding is the point.
- You can move a line between the two later — clubs often start on hire and move the spa side across once branding is settled.
Can wet-area mats go on the same collection?
Yes — a gym floor and a spa want opposite things from a towel. Volume on one side of the building, finish on the other.
- Robes are laundered to keep their handle — a robe that feels like a gym towel has been washed like one.
- Bath mats run on a heavier classification — than towelling, and mixing the two shortens the life of both.
- One collection, one invoice — even where the two sides of the building want different specs.
- Hotel spas are a normal account — and the hotel laundry page covers how the rooms side is priced.
Something specific to your Hampton club?
Ask us directlyThe greenest wash is the one Hampton does not repeat
Most of the environmental cost of gym towelling is rewashing and replacing it. Getting the classification right the first time does more than any claim on a van.
- Hampton is a stop on a round that was already running, not a van dispatched for one club.
- Towelling washed without softener keeps absorbing, so it is replaced on wear rather than on feel.
- Hire stock is rotated through its full life rather than binned when it greys.
