What goes wrong

Towel demand in Wimbledon is not spread across the day

Almost nobody around SW19 changes towel supplier to save money. They change because the same thing went wrong three weeks running.

  • Running out at the evening peak

Towel demand stacks into roughly two hours rather than spreading across opening. A par count set on a daily average leaves the Wimbledon rack empty exactly when the floor is busiest.

  • Towels that come back smelling

A towel can pass inspection dry and fail it in use. Oil left in the fibre only announces itself once the towel warms up, which is after it has reached a member.

  • Stock that never quite balances

Towels walk. Every Wimbledon club loses some, and an account that does not plan for shrinkage turns into a monthly argument about counts.

How it works

Four steps to a Wimbledon club on the round

Most of the work happens before the first collection. Get the peak-hour count right and the towel rack stops being something the duty manager thinks about.

Serving SW19 Since 2009
  1. The count

We count at peak because that is the only hour the par level has to survive. Every other hour looks fine on any count.

    An hour, at peak

  2. The round

The van is already in SW19. Joining that round is what keeps a single studio priced as a stop rather than a journey.

    SW19 · 7 days

  3. The switch

Stock arrives before the old supplier is stood down, so there is never an evening with an empty rack.

    No gap in service

  4. The account

The same person handles Wimbledon every week, which is why a change to your par count does not need explaining twice.

    One name, not a queue

Running more than one club around Merton? The same account manager covers all of them, on staggered days so no site is left short.

How it is processed

Wimbledon towels are not subcontracted

There are two buildings between your towels and ours, and we own both. Wimbledon collections run 10.2 miles to our Wembley plant. Nothing is passed to a third party in between.

What comes off a Wimbledon gym floor is not what comes off a hotel bed. Body oil needs its own temperature and no softener, so towelling is classified separately rather than run at the tail of a linen load.

Switching supplier in Wimbledon without an empty rack

Most Wimbledon clubs stay with a supplier they have stopped rating, because changing one feels like a risk in the week membership is highest. It is not.

  1. Before you commit

We count your peak, not your average

We count the Wimbledon floor between five and seven rather than take a number off your last invoice — the invoice records what you were sold, not what the rack needed.

  2. The handover

Stock lands before the old supplier stops

You are never between suppliers. New stock is on the shelf before the last collection of the old contract.

  3. After

Par counts adjust once we have seen a month

First counts are an estimate. After four weeks we set them against what you actually used, including what walked out of the door.

Nothing here needs you to be out of contract first — the count and the quote cost nothing.

We rely on clean bolster covers, fleece blankets and eye pillows. Delicate fabrics are treated with care while still getting a deep, hypoallergenic sanitisation, and everything comes back beautifully presented.
Hannah Sterling Studio Coordinator · Yoga & pilates studio
  • For high-end short-stay apartments, guest reviews live and die by linen quality. We get hotel-grade crispness that consistently earns us five-star cleanliness ratings, and the communication lines are short when something needs resolving.
Beatrice Dupont Head of Housekeeping · Luxury serviced apartments
  • Table presentation is everything in Mayfair. They handle our heavy cotton damask tablecloths and chef whites with real precision — stains vanish and the starch finish is always spot on. The daily collection has never let us down.
Mateo Rossi Restaurant General Manager · Fine dining restaurant
  • In clinical and aesthetic practice, hygiene standards have to meet rigorous compliance. High-temperature sanitised gowns, drapes and bed covers arrive reliably every week. I trust their quality control completely.
Dr Elena Rostova Clinic Director · Private healthcare clinic
  • Running a busy dining room alongside eight letting rooms needs a versatile laundry partner. Kitchen aprons, table runners and bed sheets all go in one collection, and the seven-day pickup schedule flexes around us.
Liam Gallagher Operations & Pub Manager · Gastro pub with rooms
  • We use dozens of salon towels and client gowns every day. Stubborn hair dye and product stains come out effortlessly and our capes still look new. They are an indispensable part of the daily flow here.
Chloe St. Laurent Salon Owner & Manager · Hair & beauty salon
  • From velvet seat throws to staff aprons and heavy bar towels, our eclectic mix of textiles is handled without fuss. The turnaround times and the account management are what stand out.
Kieran Davies Venue & Hospitality Manager · Boutique cinema & lounge
  • As a family-run Victorian B&B we need a partner who understands traditional hospitality. Our heritage cotton sheets are treated with real care, the drivers are friendly and the weekly delivery is consistent.

Wimbledon questions, answered

Do you collect in Wimbledon?

Yes — Wimbledon sits on the SW19 round, 7 days, 10.2 miles from our Wembley plant.

  • Shared with South Wimbledon, Wimbledon Park and Summerstown — adding you changes the schedule, not the route.
  • The driver knows the streets around Wimbledon, South Wimbledon and Wimbledon Chase — the same crew runs it weekly, so nobody is looking for your service entrance.
  • A missed window here is picked up on the next round rather than the next week, which is what 10.2 miles buys you.
  • 19 clubs and spas around SW19 are already on this round — which is why the timings suit an evening peak rather than a hotel check-out.
What would a Wimbledon club cost to supply?

It is quoted, not tariffed. Two clubs with the same membership can differ twofold in towel usage depending on the floor.

  • We count a real week in Wimbledon before quoting — rather than pricing off your last invoice.
  • The count includes January — peak months are the ones the par count has to survive.
  • No minimum order — so a boutique studio is an ordinary account and is priced per item like any other.
  • The count and the quote cost nothing — including while you are still under contract elsewhere.
What stops us running short in the evening?

We count at peak, because that is the only hour the count has to survive. Every other hour looks fine on any count, which is why averages keep passing and racks keep emptying.

  • We count on site at the time it matters — an hour on the Wimbledon floor at peak tells us more than a year of delivery notes.
  • A Monday evening and a Sunday morning are different businesses — which is why the count is taken twice rather than once.
  • January is planned in — a Wimbledon club in January is not the same club in August, and the account should say so.
  • If you run short twice, the count is wrong — and correcting it is our job, not a favour.
Do Wimbledon clubs have to buy their own towels?

Both, and mixed accounts are normal. The two sit on one invoice and one round.

  • Hire — stock, replacement and shrinkage planning are ours; you never reorder.
  • Wash-only — item for item, never substituted.
  • Most clubs split it — the logo matters on a robe, rarely on a sweat towel.
  • You can move a line between the two later — it is a change to the sheet, not a new agreement.
Can you handle a spa as well as a gym floor?

Yes — a gym floor and a spa want opposite things from a towel. A gym floor wants volume and absorbency; a spa wants handle and appearance.

  • Robes are laundered to keep their handle — which is a different process from turning round sweat towels at volume.
  • Bath mats run on a heavier classification — than towelling, and mixing the two shortens the life of both.
  • One collection, one invoice — the split is in the classification, not in the account.
  • Hotel spas are a normal account — with one account manager across both.
Is there a minimum term?

No long-term tie-in and no exit fee. We would rather keep you on the service than on the paperwork.

  • Terms flex with seasonal demand — you are not held to a peak figure through a quiet quarter.
  • Nothing needs you to be out of your current contract first — the count and the quote commit you to nothing.
  • Stock arrives before the old supplier is stood down — so there is never a Wimbledon evening with an empty rack.
  • If it is not working, say so — most problems are a wrong par count or a wrong delivery window, and both are fixable without changing supplier.
Our towels smell after a few hours — why?

It is oil left in the fibre, not the towel being old. Cold it is fine; warm and damp it is not, and that is after it has reached a member.

  • Gym towelling runs on its own classification — the programme is chosen for body oil rather than inherited from whatever ran before.
  • Oil needs a different temperature from sweat — and softener makes it worse by coating the fibre, which is why we do not use it on gym stock.
  • Towels that stop absorbing are usually over-softened, not worn out — and the fix costs nothing but a change of classification.
  • Every load is temperature logged — which matters if you are ever asked to show how stock is handled.
Members take towels — how is that counted?

Every Wimbledon club loses towels, and an account that pretends otherwise turns into a monthly argument about counts.

  • Expected loss is built into the par count at setup — which is the difference between a working count and an optimistic one.
  • You get the actual numbers each cycle — rather than a running balance nobody can reconcile.
  • A sudden jump in loss is worth knowing about — a step change in shrinkage is information, not an invoice line.
  • On hire, fair wear is our cost — not a charge back to you.

The greenest wash is the one Wimbledon does not repeat

Most of the environmental cost of gym towelling is rewashing and replacing it. Getting the classification right the first time does more than any claim on a van.

  • Wimbledon is a stop on a round that was already running, not a van dispatched for one club.
  • Keeping the fibre clear is what stops stock being replaced before its time.
  • Hire stock is rotated through its full life rather than binned when it greys.
