LP Laundry began in the UK, washing and pressing for people at home. We carried those habits over to the Emirates: collect it, look it over, clean it the right way and hand it back to the person it belongs to. Dubai was the first emirate to get its own pages on this site, and we collect in the other six as well.
The work here throws up its own problems. Fine sand settles in pockets and towel loops. Sunscreen and sweat leave a ring inside collars, a white kandura turns yellow when it's washed too hot, and a crepe or nida abaya loses its deep black if the water and powder are wrong. Beading and embroidery want a slow hand. So each piece gets looked at before it goes anywhere near a machine.
And it isn't only family homes. We collect from flats and villas, from guests on a longer hotel stay, and from hosts turning a holiday let round between bookings. Clothes, dry cleaning, bedding, footwear, handbags, curtains, carpets and soft toys are all things we clean.
