Banquets Linen · London & the Home Counties

Banqueting Linen For The Long Table

Long tables and hotel event suites, where skirting, drapes and chair covers matter as much as the cloths — and where a short drop is visible down the entire length of the run.

What goes wrong

Banquets — where it usually goes wrong

An event is one dated job with no next round. These are the three things that go wrong on a banquet specifically, rather than on events in general.

  • Drops that vary along the run

On a long table a cloth short at one end is visible for the whole length. Sizing to the actual trestles is the only fix.

  • Chair covers that do not fit the venue chairs

Banqueting chairs vary more than people expect, and a spandex fit and a classic cut hang very differently on the same frame.

  • Setup that clashes with service

A banqueting suite is often turned round from lunch. The linen has to arrive into that gap, not across it.

How it works

Four steps to a dressed banquet

Almost all of the work happens before the date. These four are the ones that decide whether a banquet goes smoothly.

Serving London Since 2009
  1. The room

Long runs, sprigs and rounds all take different cloths, and a banqueting suite rarely uses one table size throughout.

    Measured, not assumed

  2. The chairs

Chair covers are sized to the venue’s actual frames. Spandex sits tight to a moulded chair; a classic cover suits a wider one.

    Counted and matched

  3. The turnaround

Where the suite is turned round from a lunch, we deliver into that window rather than across it.

    Into the gap

  4. The collection

Collection is booked for after the last course, at a time the suite accepts.

    After service, not during

Planning several dates? A venue or planner account keeps one contact and one set of specs across all of them.

How it is processed

Banquets linen is finished, not just washed

There are two buildings between your linen and ours, and we own both: a production plant in Wembley and our Harrow site. Nothing is passed to a third party in between.

Banqueting cloths are pressed and rolled rather than folded, because a crease across a long run is visible for its entire length. Chair covers travel on hangers so they are ready to fit rather than needing steaming on site.

Livery halls and hotel suites usually need the room dressed as well as the tables — ask about drapes and staging skirts.

What a banquet actually needs dressing

The linen is the same quality whichever event you are running. What changes is which parts of the room carry the weight — on a banquet, these three.

  1. Top table

    The one that is photographed

A long top table takes a different cloth and a different drop from the guest rounds, and skirting where guests can see under it.

  2. Guest tables

    Consistency down the run

A short drop at one end reads as carelessness for the whole length, which is why every table is sized rather than averaged.

  3. The room itself

    Drapes and skirting

Livery halls and hotel suites often need the room dressed as well as the tables — drapes, staging skirts and buffet fronts.

Nothing here needs a long-term agreement — a single date is a normal booking.

The date is the deadline. Everything else works backwards from it.

What London businesses actually say

4.7/5

  • LP Laundry has been an absolute game-changer for our 45-room boutique hotel. Turnaround on our bed linens and heavy plush towels is inside 24 hours without a single delay. We could not be happier with the crisp, immaculate finish.
Charlotte Vance Front of House & Accommodation Manager · 45-room boutique hotel
  • For high-end short-stay apartments, guest reviews live and die by linen quality. We get hotel-grade crispness that consistently earns us five-star cleanliness ratings, and the communication lines are short when something needs resolving.
Beatrice Dupont Head of Housekeeping · Luxury serviced apartments
  • From velvet seat throws to staff aprons and heavy bar towels, our eclectic mix of textiles is handled without fuss. The turnaround times and the account management are what stand out.
Kieran Davies Venue & Hospitality Manager · Boutique cinema & lounge
  • Table presentation is everything in Mayfair. They handle our heavy cotton damask tablecloths and chef whites with real precision — stains vanish and the starch finish is always spot on. The daily collection has never let us down.
Mateo Rossi Restaurant General Manager · Fine dining restaurant
  • Running a high-end spa means going through hundreds of bathrobes and spa towels daily. Our rotation stays fully stocked with exceptionally soft, hygienically pristine textiles. Guest comfort has noticeably improved since we switched.

  • In clinical and aesthetic practice, hygiene standards have to meet rigorous compliance. High-temperature sanitised gowns, drapes and bed covers arrive reliably every week. I trust their quality control completely.
Dr Elena Rostova Clinic Director · Private healthcare clinic
  • Running a busy dining room alongside eight letting rooms needs a versatile laundry partner. Kitchen aprons, table runners and bed sheets all go in one collection, and the seven-day pickup schedule flexes around us.

Banquets linen — the questions we get most

Can you size to our banqueting trestles?

Yes — we size to the venue’s actual tables rather than to a standard. On a long run, a drop two inches short is visible for the whole length.

  • Round cloths at 90", 108", 120" and 132", plus trestle sizes for the run.
  • Mixed table sizes in one room are normal and handled per table rather than averaged.
  • Skirting to 14ft in shirred or box-pleat styles.
Can you work around a room turnaround?

Yes — the delivery is timed into the turnaround gap, not across it. A suite turned round from lunch has a narrow window and it is the one that matters.

  • Agreed with the venue directly if you would rather not run that conversation.
  • Collection after the last course, at a time the suite accepts.
We run several banquets a month — is there an account for that?

Yes. A venue partner account holds one spec across every date in the diary.

  • No re-quoting per booking and no drift in what arrives.
  • Volumes flex per event without renegotiating the spec.
Do chair covers fit banqueting chairs?

Both a spandex modern fit and a classic cut are available, because banqueting chairs vary more than people expect.

  • Spandex sits tight to a moulded chair; a classic cover suits a wider frame.
  • Covers travel on hangers, so they are ready to fit rather than needing steaming on site.
  • Sashes in 50+ colours, matched to the cloths and napkins.
Do you dress the room as well as the tables?

Yes — livery halls and hotel suites often need staging skirts, buffet fronts and wall drapes.

  • Drapes 8ft to 12ft on a professional pipe and drape system.
  • Buffet and staging fronts are skirted to the same palette as the tables.
What happens to wax and wine marks?

They are stain work, not damage, and they are expected on banqueting stock.

  • Fair wear is our cost on hire — you are not invoiced per marked cloth.
  • Candle wax is treated separately from food and wine staining, because it needs a different process.

The greenest wash is the one you do not repeat

Banquets linen has a particular waste problem: stock bought for one date and never used again. Hire exists precisely so it is not.

  • Banqueting stock turns over constantly, so a cloth earns its footprint across hundreds of covers.
  • Sizing to the room means fewer cloths sent and fewer returned unused after a service.
  • Wax, wine and candle marks are stain work rather than grounds for replacement.
