Party Linen At Home, Or In A Marquee

Birthdays, christenings, anniversaries and wakes — at home, in a marquee or in a dry-hire space with no kit of its own, where the linen has to arrive complete because there is nothing on site to fall back on.

What goes wrong

Private parties — where it usually goes wrong

An event is one dated job with no next round. These are the three things that go wrong on a party specifically, rather than on events in general.

  • Nothing on site to fall back on

A hotel has spares in a cupboard. A marquee in a field does not, so a short order cannot be fixed on the day.

  • Access that is not a loading bay

Fields, mews houses and top-floor flats all need the delivery planned rather than assumed.

  • Tables hired from somewhere else

If the tables come from one supplier and the linen from another, nobody has checked the sizes against each other.

How it works

Four steps to a dressed party

Almost all of the work happens before the date. These four are the ones that decide whether a party goes smoothly.

Serving London Since 2009
  1. The space

A private room has no back-of-house. Knowing what is actually on site decides how much contingency travels with the order.

    Home, marquee or dry hire

  2. The tables

We size to the table hire spec rather than to a standard, because a mismatch between two suppliers is the most common cause of a bad fit.

    Usually hired from someone else

  3. The access

Fields, mews houses and top-floor flats are all normal and all need the delivery worked out in advance.

    Planned, not assumed

  4. The collection

No venue is waiting for the room back, so collection is booked for a time that suits you rather than a get-out slot.

    At your convenience

Planning several dates? A venue or planner account keeps one contact and one set of specs across all of them.

How it is processed

Private parties linen is finished, not just washed

There are two buildings between your linen and ours, and we own both: a production plant in Wembley and our Harrow site. Nothing is passed to a third party in between.

Party linen is pressed and rolled rather than folded flat, which matters more here than anywhere: a marquee has no iron, no spares and no back-of-house to fix anything on the day.

Hire it, or we launder yours

A marquee or dry-hire space has nothing to fall back on, so contingency on standard colours travels with the order.

What a party actually needs dressing

The linen is the same quality whichever event you are running. What changes is which parts of the room carry the weight — on a party, these three.

  1. Birthdays and anniversaries

A room dressed properly at any size

Thirty covers gets the same pressed linen as three hundred. Smaller does not mean plainer.

  2. Christenings and wakes

    Short notice, handled plainly

These are arranged quickly. The question is whether a supplier can move, and we will say honestly if a date is not workable.

  3. Marquees and dry hire

Everything arrives, because nothing is there

A site with no kit needs the order complete and checked, with contingency travelling alongside it.

Nothing here needs a long-term agreement — a single date is a normal booking.

The date is the deadline. Everything else works backwards from it.

What London businesses actually say

4.7/5

  • LP Laundry has been an absolute game-changer for our 45-room boutique hotel. Turnaround on our bed linens and heavy plush towels is inside 24 hours without a single delay. We could not be happier with the crisp, immaculate finish.
Charlotte Vance Front of House & Accommodation Manager · 45-room boutique hotel
  • For high-end short-stay apartments, guest reviews live and die by linen quality. We get hotel-grade crispness that consistently earns us five-star cleanliness ratings, and the communication lines are short when something needs resolving.
Beatrice Dupont Head of Housekeeping · Luxury serviced apartments
  • From velvet seat throws to staff aprons and heavy bar towels, our eclectic mix of textiles is handled without fuss. The turnaround times and the account management are what stand out.
Kieran Davies Venue & Hospitality Manager · Boutique cinema & lounge
  • Table presentation is everything in Mayfair. They handle our heavy cotton damask tablecloths and chef whites with real precision — stains vanish and the starch finish is always spot on. The daily collection has never let us down.
Mateo Rossi Restaurant General Manager · Fine dining restaurant
  • Running a high-end spa means going through hundreds of bathrobes and spa towels daily. Our rotation stays fully stocked with exceptionally soft, hygienically pristine textiles. Guest comfort has noticeably improved since we switched.
Siobhan O'Connor Spa Operations Director · Luxury health club & spa
  • Our members expect fresh sweat towels immediately after back-to-back spinning classes. They handle our daily volume seamlessly, and I would single out the punctuality and the clean, long-lasting scent of the eco-friendly detergents.
Marcus Thorne Studio Manager · Boutique fitness studio
  • In clinical and aesthetic practice, hygiene standards have to meet rigorous compliance. High-temperature sanitised gowns, drapes and bed covers arrive reliably every week. I trust their quality control completely.
Dr Elena Rostova Clinic Director · Private healthcare clinic
  • Running a busy dining room alongside eight letting rooms needs a versatile laundry partner. Kitchen aprons, table runners and bed sheets all go in one collection, and the seven-day pickup schedule flexes around us.
Liam Gallagher Operations & Pub Manager · Gastro pub with rooms

Private parties linen — the questions we get most

Can you deliver to a marquee or a private home?

Yes — marquee and outdoor events are normal work, not an exception. The delivery window is agreed against your setup schedule rather than a venue loading bay.

  • Access is planned in advance — fields, mews houses and top-floor flats all need it.
  • Collection at your convenience, because no venue is waiting for the room back.
  • Contingency travels with the order, since a site with no kit cannot be topped up on the day.
Is a small party too small to book?

No. Thirty covers is an ordinary booking and there is no minimum that rules a small room out.

  • Priced per item, the same as a banquet.
  • The same pressed finish — smaller does not mean plainer.
Do you cover christenings, anniversaries and wakes?

Yes — those three are a large share of what we dress outside weddings.

  • Christening lunches are often at home or in a village hall with nothing on site.
  • Wakes are arranged fast and handled without a sales conversation.
  • Anniversary dinners usually want the finish of a wedding at a fraction of the scale, which is straightforward.
Our tables are hired from someone else — will the linen fit?

Tell us the table hire spec and we will size to it. This is the single most common cause of a bad fit: tables from one supplier, linen from another, sizes checked by nobody.

  • Round or trestle, and the exact size is all we need.
  • We will flag a mismatch before the date rather than on it.
Can you work at short notice?

Usually yes, and wakes especially are often arranged quickly. Tell us the date and the room and we will say honestly whether it is workable.

  • Standard colours are fastest; an unusual sash colour is what takes time.
  • We will not take a booking we cannot deliver in order to make a sale.
What if we are short on the day?

A marquee has nothing to fall back on, so the order is checked against the plan before it leaves the plant.

  • Contingency on standard colours travels with the order.
  • Late number changes are easy with notice — tell us as soon as you know.

The greenest wash is the one you do not repeat

Private parties linen has a particular waste problem: stock bought for one date and never used again. Hire exists precisely so it is not.

  • A hired cloth for one afternoon is back in rotation the same week rather than bought and stored.
  • Sizing to your hired tables means nothing is ordered twice because the first set did not fit.
  • Marked linen from a party is stain work, not a write-off.
