Conference Linen Same Spec Every Date

What goes wrong

Conferences — where it usually goes wrong

An event is one dated job with no next round. These are the three things that go wrong on a conference specifically, rather than on events in general.

  • A spec that drifts between dates

Quote every booking fresh and the room looks slightly different each time. A standing spec is the only thing that stops it.

  • Skirting cut for the wrong trestle

Trestle lengths vary by venue. Skirting sized for one does not sit right on another, and it shows along the whole front edge.

  • Delivery into a build day

A conference venue runs a build schedule, not a delivery window. Arrive outside it and the order waits on a loading bay.

How it works

Four steps to a dressed conference

Almost all of the work happens before the date. These four are the ones that decide whether a conference goes smoothly.

Serving London Since 2009
  1. The spec

Skirting style, drape height, cloth colour and desk dressing are fixed at the start so no future booking has to be re-specified.

    Agreed once

  2. The trestle sizes

Trestle lengths vary more than people expect, and skirting cut for the wrong one is visible along the entire front edge.

    Measured at the venue

  3. The build slot

We work to the build schedule the venue actually runs, which is rarely the same as a supplier default.

    Not a delivery window

  4. The break-down

Collection is timed to the get-out rather than left for someone to chase after the last session.

    Booked with the get-out

Planning several dates? A venue or planner account keeps one contact and one set of specs across all of them.

How it is processed

Conferences linen is finished, not just washed

There are two buildings between your linen and ours, and we own both: a production plant in Wembley and our Harrow site. Nothing is passed to a third party in between.

Conference linen is pressed and rolled rather than folded flat, because a fold crease across a skirted trestle is visible from the back of the room. Drapes are hung and transported on rails for the same reason.

What a conference actually needs dressing

The linen is the same quality whichever event you are running. What changes is which parts of the room carry the weight — on a conference, these three.

  1. Registration

    The first thing anyone sees

Desk skirting and cloths at the entrance set the tone before a single session starts, and they are the cheapest thing in the room to get right.

  2. Main room

    Stage drapes and top-table dressing

Drapes 8ft to 12ft on a professional pipe and drape system, matched to the room height rather than supplied at one standard drop.

  3. Refreshments

The tables that get used hardest

Catering stations take the most traffic and the most spills, and are usually the tables specified last.

Nothing here needs a long-term agreement — a single date is a normal booking.

The date is the deadline. Everything else works backwards from it.

What London businesses actually say

4.7/5

  • LP Laundry has been an absolute game-changer for our 45-room boutique hotel. Turnaround on our bed linens and heavy plush towels is inside 24 hours without a single delay. We could not be happier with the crisp, immaculate finish.
Charlotte Vance Front of House & Accommodation Manager · 45-room boutique hotel
  • For high-end short-stay apartments, guest reviews live and die by linen quality. We get hotel-grade crispness that consistently earns us five-star cleanliness ratings, and the communication lines are short when something needs resolving.
Beatrice Dupont Head of Housekeeping · Luxury serviced apartments
  • From velvet seat throws to staff aprons and heavy bar towels, our eclectic mix of textiles is handled without fuss. The turnaround times and the account management are what stand out.
Kieran Davies Venue & Hospitality Manager · Boutique cinema & lounge
  • Table presentation is everything in Mayfair. They handle our heavy cotton damask tablecloths and chef whites with real precision — stains vanish and the starch finish is always spot on. The daily collection has never let us down.
Mateo Rossi Restaurant General Manager · Fine dining restaurant
  • Running a high-end spa means going through hundreds of bathrobes and spa towels daily. Our rotation stays fully stocked with exceptionally soft, hygienically pristine textiles. Guest comfort has noticeably improved since we switched.
Siobhan O'Connor Spa Operations Director · Luxury health club & spa
  • Our members expect fresh sweat towels immediately after back-to-back spinning classes. They handle our daily volume seamlessly, and I would single out the punctuality and the clean, long-lasting scent of the eco-friendly detergents.
Marcus Thorne Studio Manager · Boutique fitness studio
  • In clinical and aesthetic practice, hygiene standards have to meet rigorous compliance. High-temperature sanitised gowns, drapes and bed covers arrive reliably every week. I trust their quality control completely.
Dr Elena Rostova Clinic Director · Private healthcare clinic
  • Running a busy dining room alongside eight letting rooms needs a versatile laundry partner. Kitchen aprons, table runners and bed sheets all go in one collection, and the seven-day pickup schedule flexes around us.
Liam Gallagher Operations & Pub Manager · Gastro pub with rooms

Conferences linen — the questions we get most

Can you hold the same spec across several dates?

Yes — that is what a venue partner account is for. One agreed spec, one contact, and the same finish whether the booking is in March or November.

  • No re-quoting each time, and no drift in what arrives.
  • Volumes flex per date without renegotiating the spec.
  • A new venue can be added to the same spec once its trestles are measured.
Can you work to our build schedule?

Yes, and we agree it with the venue rather than assuming a window. A conference build runs to a schedule that rarely matches a supplier default.

  • Collection is timed to the get-out, not left for someone to chase after the last session.
  • Multi-day events can take a refresh between days on the catering stations, which take the most traffic.
Our trestles are a non-standard length — is that a problem?

No, but it is exactly why we measure rather than assume 14ft. Skirting cut for the wrong trestle is visible along the entire front edge.

  • Measured once per venue and held on the spec.
  • Mixed lengths in one room are normal and are handled per table.
Do you supply stage drapes and backdrops?

Yes — 8ft to 12ft on a professional pipe and drape system, in sheer voile and heavier fabrics.

  • Heights are matched to the room, not supplied at one standard drop.
  • Drapes are hung and transported on rails, so they arrive without fold lines across the face.
What about registration and catering tables?

They are specified in, not added later. Registration is the first thing a delegate sees and catering stations take the hardest use in the building.

  • Desk skirting at the entrance is the cheapest thing in the room to get right.
  • Refreshment cloths are counted for spills and refreshed between days on longer events.
Can you dress a gala dinner attached to the conference?

Yes, and it goes on the same account. Awards dinners and closing galas are usually the one evening the room is photographed.

  • Chair covers and sashes can be added for that evening only.
  • See our gala and awards page for how those rooms are dressed.

The greenest wash is the one you do not repeat

Conferences linen has a particular waste problem: stock bought for one date and never used again. Hire exists precisely so it is not.

  • One standing spec means no sample orders and no cloths ordered speculatively for each date.
  • Skirting sized to the venue is reused across every booking there rather than replaced per event.
  • Drape stock is repaired and rehung for years rather than treated as event consumables.
  • Over 80% of our central London fleet is fully electric.
