Reasons to choose LPlaundry
Cleaning that keeps shoes going
A good clean should add months to a pair, not wear it out. Here's what we're careful about in a climate this hard on footwear.
-
Supple leather
Leather that bakes in a parked car, then sits in cold AC, dries and creases. Conditioner after cleaning helps it stay soft.
-
Glue and seams
Worked by hand with soft brushes, so the stitching and the glue line between sole and upper aren't strained.
-
Colour holds
Each part gets a cleaner that's safe for it, so dyed leather and coloured suede don't bleed or fade.
-
Odour handled
The inside is treated for odour too, which counts after a summer of hot feet.

Your shoe cleaning questions
What is shoe care in Dubai?
It's footwear cleaning collected from your Dubai home and brought back to it. LPlaundry takes sneakers, office leather, suede, sandals and boots, checks what each pair is made of, cleans it by hand with soft brushes and a material-safe product, then conditions, brushes or polishes it. Pairs return 72 hours after collection, and both trips are free.
- Collected and returned free
- Hand cleaning, pair by pair
- 72 hours from collection
What does shoe cleaning cost in Dubai?
Each pair has a fixed price set by the type of shoe. Children's pairs are cheapest, then sandals and suede, then sports sneakers and leather formal shoes. Designer pairs and boots cost more because they take longer. Every figure is in the prices section of this page. Collection is free and orders start at AED 50.
- Priced per pair, by type
- Designer pairs and boots cost more
- AED 50 order minimum
What types of shoes can you clean?
Sneakers, leather office shoes, suede, sandals, espadrilles, boots and children's shoes. That takes in knit runners, canvas pumps, designer and limited pairs, loafers, heels, nubuck and embroidered flats like khussa. Split leather, soles worn through and specialist kit such as skates are best shown to us in a photo first, as they may need restoration instead.
- Sneakers through to boots
- Suede, nubuck and embroidery
- Photo first for damaged pairs
How long does sneaker cleaning take?
Sneaker cleaning takes 72 hours from collection to return. Every pair is worked by hand, one part at a time, so it runs longer than a bag of washing. If you need a pair for a race, a trip or a party, book three clear days ahead and tell us the day you need it back.
- 72 hours, collection to return
- Handwork part by part
- Three clear days before the date
Can you get sand out of sneaker mesh?
Yes, sand in mesh is brushed out dry before any cleaner goes on. Wet it first and the grains turn into a gritty paste inside the knit. After the dry brush, the upper is cleaned gently by hand and the sole worked harder. Fine dust in pale mesh can leave a faint shadow, and we'll warn you if a photo suggests it.
- Dry brushing comes first
- Gentle cleaner on the knit
- Firmer work on the sole
How do I stop white soles turning yellow?
Keep white pairs out of strong sun and heat when you aren't wearing them. In Dubai that means not leaving them in a parked car or on a sunny windowsill. Once a sole has yellowed, an ordinary clean won't reverse it; sole brightening is a separate add-on, priced in the prices section. Nano-Shield guards against spills, not sun.
- Store away from sun and heat
- Brightening for yellowed soles
- Nano-Shield is for spills
Is shoe cleaning safe for suede and delicate leather?
Yes, because each material gets its own product and a soft brush. Suede is dry-brushed first, then cleaned with suede products and its nap raised; smooth leather is cleaned by hand and conditioned. Designer and limited pairs are inspected, and their existing marks noted, before any work starts. If something worries you, send a close-up first.
- Product chosen per material
- Marks noted before work
- Leather conditioned after
How often should I have my sneakers cleaned in Dubai?
It depends how hard you wear them. A daily pair that does the coast path and the gym every week gathers sweat and sand fast, so a clean every couple of months is a sensible rhythm. Office leather and occasional pairs need it far less: once a season, and always before they're stored for the summer.
- Daily runners every two months
- Occasional pairs once a season
- Clean before storing
What's the difference between sneaker cleaning and restoration?
Cleaning removes dirt; restoration deals with wear and damage. A clean takes off sand, sweat, scuffs and stains and finishes the material. Restoration covers what a clean can't touch: yellowed soles, small repairs, a full rework or a complete sole swap, each priced on its own. A photo on WhatsApp lets us tell you which a pair needs.
- Cleaning lifts dirt
- Restoration fixes wear
- Priced separately
How do I book shoe cleaning in Dubai?
Message us on WhatsApp or use the booking form. Send your location pin, a collection time and roughly what's coming, say two pairs of runners and a suede pair. We confirm, the driver collects free of charge, and the shoes come back 72 hours later. Orders start at AED 50, so pair a lone child's shoe with something else.
- WhatsApp or the online form
- Pin, time and a list of pairs
- Free collection and return
Shoe care, the Dubai way
Sand is the first thing we deal with on a Dubai pair. It comes from everywhere: the beach in front of the JBR towers, a walk along Sunset Beach in Umm Suqeim, a weekend out at Al Qudra Lakes in the Al Marmoom desert reserve. And when the shamal blows, dust lifted off the desert settles over the whole city for days. In knit and mesh it works down between the fibres and grinds at them with every step, which is why every pair is brushed out dry before any liquid goes near it.

Heat comes next. July and August average highs above 43°C, and a shoe left in a parked car or on a sunny windowsill gets hotter still. Strong sun yellows white rubber and foam, and long spells of heat are hard on the glue line between upper and sole. Leather goes from that heat into air-conditioned rooms and back, which dries it out, and suede fades where the light falls. Conditioning after a clean helps, and so does keeping spare pairs in a cool cupboard.
Then there's the sea. Salt water dries into pale lines on leather sandal straps and stiffens them, while sunscreen darkens a footbed. Rinse a pair in fresh water after a swim and let it dry in the shade. Embroidered khussa, with mirrors, beads or brass studs on a vegetable-tanned upper and a sole stitched on with cotton thread, need the opposite of a scrub: we clean round the decoration, never across it.
When the weather cools, running moves outdoors again. If you run the coast path from the Dubai Water Canal boardwalk past Kite Beach towards Umm Suqeim, or the almost 8 km of walkways round Dubai Marina, a white pair goes grey quickly. A clean before the pair is put away for the hot months stops that grime setting in for good.
Handing shoes over is simple. In a tower, leave the bag at the security desk if your building has one; in a gated community like Arabian Ranches or The Springs, say when you book if the gate needs a visitor pass. Shoes are back 72 hours after collection, so for a wedding, a race or a flight, book three days before you need them.
- Dry brush firstSand comes out of mesh and suede before anything wet touches the shoe.
- Not in the carKeep spare pairs out of a parked car in summer. Heat yellows soles and weakens glue.
- Rinse off the saltAfter the beach, fresh water and drying in the shade stop white tide marks setting into leather.
- Door or gateDrivers come to your door. In a gated community, give us any visitor-pass details when you book.
