Here is what happens from the moment the driver takes your bag at Le Meridien Dubai to the moment it is back in your room. Nothing is rushed, and nothing is skipped.

• Checked and sorted. We take everything out, look through the pockets, and split whites, lights, darks and stretch pieces into separate loads.
• Washed alone. Your bag goes into a machine that has no one else's clothes in it, using mild, biodegradable detergent.
• Right temperature. We follow the care label on each piece, so cotton is not washed as hot as a delicate top.
• Dried gently. Low heat stops cotton from shrinking and keeps jeans from tightening.
• Folded and bagged. Matching pairs stay together and everything is folded flat, so it packs easily into a suitcase.

A 6kg bag is bigger than most people expect. For a short stay it often holds everything you have worn, so you rarely need to send more than one.

• A typical week. Several T-shirts, a pair of jeans, shorts, a few sets of gym kit and your swimwear all fit with room to spare.
• Jeans are heavy. Two pairs use up a good share of the weight, so leave a little space in the bag.
• Close to the limit? Use the 12kg bag instead of two 6kg bags if you have been away for a long time or travelled with someone else.

Putting everything in one drum is how white tops end up grey, so we sort every bag before it is washed. The sorting takes a few minutes and makes a clear difference to the result.

• By colour. Whites, lights and darks run in separate loads, so a new dark shirt cannot stain a white one.
• By weight. Heavy denim runs apart from thin tops, which would be worn down by it.
• By stretch. Swimwear and gym leggings get a gentle cycle, so the elastic keeps its grip.

If something might bleed, such as a new red top, tell us when you book and we will wash it alone.

A stain comes out best when we know what made it, because coffee, oil, wine and sunscreen each need different treatment. Please tell us before the driver leaves, or put a short note on WhatsApp.

• The cause. Tell us what it is, even if you only think you know.
• How long ago. Fresh marks lift more easily than old ones, so send these first.
• Where it is. Point to the spot on the shirt, so we treat that place by hand before the wash.
• What you have tried. If you have already used a product on it, tell us that too.

A few small habits make the wash better and the pickup quicker, especially if you are leaving the hotel in a day or two and want everything back before you check out.

• Empty your pockets. Coins, cards, receipts and boarding passes should stay behind in the room, as they can ruin a wash.
• Keep hotel items out. Towels and robes belong to the hotel and stay in your room.
• Put swimwear on top. It is damp and gets its own gentle wash, so it helps us to find it fast.
• Separate the pressed pieces. Shirts, suits and dresses go on the Clean & Press list rather than in the bag.
• Book early. If you leave soon, book before 2 PM and ask about express laundry delivery for your address.

Le Meridien Dubai has a pool and a gym, so many guests finish the day with damp, sweaty kit. It is worth sending these pieces quickly, because they do not improve in a closed bag.

• Do not leave it. Damp gym kit turns sour fast when it sits in a bag, and the smell is harder to remove.
• Rinse swimwear. A quick rinse removes most of the chlorine before we wash it.
• A gentle cycle. Both are washed away from your heavier clothes, so the stretch is not worn down.

This is how a normal order runs, from the first message to the moment the bag is back at the hotel. It is the same steps every time, so there are no surprises.

• Book. Send your pickup time on WhatsApp, and tell us if you need express.
• Check. The driver goes through your items when they collect them.
• Pay. A secure link is texted to you. You pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and never in the lobby.
• Delivery. After payment, your clothes go out for delivery to the hotel, and we message you on the way.

• Stains and marks. We note where they are and treat them by hand before the clean.
• Damage. Anything already torn or worn is noted, so we both know the state it arrived in.

A crisp shirt makes a difference in a room full of people, and you can send it the day before. Here is how guests usually plan it.

• Send it early. Standard orders return within 24 hours, so a shirt sent in the morning is usually back by the next day.
• Need it today? Express takes 5 hours if you booked before 2 PM and your address is covered.
• On a hanger. It comes back ready to wear, so you can go straight from your room to the meeting.

A wedding, a gala or a conference dinner is hard to dress for when your clothes have been in a suitcase for days. Here is how to plan it, so everything is ready in time.

• Count back from the event. Give a suit or dress a full day if you can, and more for a busy weekend.
• Suit jacket and trousers. A two-piece suit is priced as a pair, so send both together.
• Evening dresses. Show us any marks on the neckline or skirt before the driver leaves.
• Ties and blouses. These are priced separately, so add them to the same order.

If you are short on time, ask about express suit pressing for your address.

Traditional wear is cleaned by its label and pressed on a hanger, so the shape holds on the way back to your room.

• Kandura. Cleaned and pressed, then hung with a cover so the collar does not crease.
• Abaya. A plain abaya and a delicate or decorated one are priced differently, so tell us which yours is.
• Ghutra. Pressed flat on a hanger, ready to wear.

Care labels use small symbols, and the dots are the part that confuses people most. A quick guide is below, though you never need to decode them yourself.

• On the pressing symbol. One dot means a cool press, two a warm press, and three a hot press.
• On the drying symbol. One dot means low heat, and two dots mean a medium heat.
• Crossed out. If a symbol has a cross over it, that process should not be used.
• No label? Tell us. Pieces with no care label are cleaned at the owner's risk.

We read the label on every piece before it is cleaned.

Express suit pressing works for a single piece too, if one jacket or one dress is all you need back fast. Book before 2 PM, and where your address is covered, it returns in 5 hours. Message us your location pin and we will tell you straight away whether express reaches the hotel.

• One piece is fine. You do not need a full order.
• Tell us the time. Say when you need it back.

If the hotel allows it, the driver can meet you at the lobby or concierge desk, and the same person returns your pressed pieces. Tell the front desk that a driver is coming, so they are not surprised.

• Ask first. Hotels differ, so check with the front desk.
• No payment there. You never hand over cash or a card in the lobby.
• Other spot. If the lobby is not allowed, we agree another place with you.

It is rare, but we want you to know where you stand before you book, so here it is in plain words.

• The cover. If we lose or damage an item, we cover up to 10 times the cleaning price of that item.
• Already damaged. Items that arrive with existing damage are cleaned at the owner's risk.
• No care label. The same applies to pieces with no label, so please point these out when the driver checks your bag.
• How to claim. Message us on WhatsApp and we will take it from there.
