What happens to your bag
A bag from Movenpick Grand Al Bustan goes through the same careful steps as every other bag, whether it is packed full or only half.

What goes in a bag
Think of it this way: if your own washing machine would take it, so will ours. Anything marked hand wash only stays out of the bag. Guests usually pack:
- Travel clothes: a few days of tops, trousers and underwear, just as they come out of the case.
- Gym kit: tops, shorts and socks from a session in the hotel gym.
- Swimwear: tell us it is swimwear, so it gets a gentle cycle.
- Light cotton and linen: the things you wear all day in the heat.
- Children's clothes: pyjamas and playwear, with the zips closed.
Not sure about a piece? Ask us, because we would rather say it needs dry cleaning than risk the fabric in a wash. A bag packed past 6kg is fine too, and we suggest the larger bag.
Other items go under different prices
The bag is only for everyday clothes. Anything else is welcome too at its own price, and the driver takes it all in one visit to the lobby.
- Shirts, kanduras, abayas and suits: book these as Clean & Press. Each piece has its own price and comes back on a hanger.
- Silk, wool, sequins and beads: water can damage them. Pick dry cleaning for these.
- Hand wash knits and underwired bras: keep them out of the bag.
Hotel towels and robes stay in your room, so only your own clothes need to go out. If you are not sure which service a piece needs, send a quick message or a photo and we will point you to the right one before the driver arrives.
Inside the wash, step by step
Most of the care is done on the sorting table, before the wash starts. This is what happens to a guest's load.
- New dark clothes: fresh denim and bright tops can bleed in early washes, so whites never go in with them.
- Thick and thin: jeans and zips can pill fine tops, so heavy and light items are washed in separate loads.
- Your own machine: nobody else's laundry shares it with yours.
- Sanitised drums: the machine is cleaned the moment your load comes out.
- Detergent: commercial-grade, and also biodegradable and hypoallergenic, with a thorough rinse.
- Drying: low heat, so cotton does not shrink and sportswear keeps its stretch.
After the wash, each load is checked again for marks that did not lift. If one remains, we tell you rather than hand it back and hope you do not notice. Everything is then folded by hand and packed in a clean bag.

Return times, express and stains
Most bags are back with you within 24 hours, like the rest of Dubai.
Need it sooner? Book express before 2 PM and your order can return 5 hours after pickup, if your address is covered. Please check on WhatsApp first.
- Tell us about any stain: what it is and where, for example sun cream on a collar.
- Share what you tried: hot water or bleach can set a mark for good.
- Wet kit: hang a damp swimsuit up, because it smells by tomorrow in a closed bag.
Wash and fold orders are returned folded, so they pack straight into a case. Delicate pieces can take a little longer, and we tell you at booking if your bag holds one.
Clean and press for shirts, suits and traditional wear
Meetings, dinners, weddings and flights all need clothes that look right. Our express suit pressing and guest dry cleaning return pieces on hangers. What the price includes
The price shown is the whole cost for the piece. Cleaning, finishing and the hanger are all inside it.
- A first look: pockets are emptied, the label is read and any marks are noted.
- Stains by hand: we work on them before washing, because heat can lock them in.
- The right process: cottons and blends go in cool. Fabrics that need special cleaning are sent for it.
- Air drying: shirts dry on hangers, never in a tumble dryer, so sleeves keep their shape.
- Finishing: collar and cuffs first, then the body, and a cover on top.
If a piece needs a different process, we tell you before we start, and you decide. Nothing is changed on your order without a message to you.
Sending a suit or shirts from the hotel
- Tell us what you have. A short message such as "a suit and three shirts", with your room number and when you need them.
- Keep hanging clothes together. Put them in a separate bag from folded washing.
- Hand over at the lobby. Pickup is free.
- Each garment on its own. We finish one before starting the next.
- Back on hangers. Usually the next day, covered and ready.

Reading the dots on a care label
On every care label there is a small iron symbol, and its dots set our steam limit. We stay within it every time. Three dots means up to about 200°C, for cotton and linen. Two dots, about 150°C, covers wool, silk and polyester blends. One dot, about 110°C, is for acrylic and similar fabrics. A crossed-out iron means steam only.
- Dark fabrics: black abayas and dark trousers only meet steam, so no shiny patches appear.
- Collars and cuffs: they get the most time, because they are seen first.
- Your preference: sharp, soft or flat-folded for a suitcase. Tell us when you book.
If you are not sure what a symbol means, send a photo of the label. We read it for you and say what we can do. No label? Tell us the fabric.
Handover at the lobby
Pickup of hanging clothes is free, the same as folded washing. Your room number on the message is all we need.
- Three details: the hotel name, your room number and the time that suits you.
- The concierge desk: if the hotel allows it, the bag can wait there for the driver.
Please give the full hotel name and your room number. If you will be out, say so, and ask the concierge whether they can hold the bag for the driver. The hotel decides whether it can.

Flying out the same night? Tell us your flight time and when you check out, and we say honestly whether the order can be back in time.
Stains guests tell us about, and why it helps
- Sweat at the collar: in hot weather it sinks into white collars and kandura necklines, so the sooner they reach us the better.
- Coffee or ink: a spilled cup or a pen that leaked in a jacket. Say which, because we treat them differently.
- Deodorant: white marks on dark cloth, yellow on pale. Tell us what you see.
- Oud and perfume oil: either can leave a ring on pale cotton. Point to the spot.
- Anything else: a suitcase fold or a no-crease request can go in the same chat.
Dry the fabric if it is wet, and do not rub the mark, because rubbing spreads it. Send it soon.
