Same Day Wash & Fold Laundry Pickup & Delivery at Movenpick JLT

You pay one price for the bag, up to the weight of the size you choose, 6kg or 12kg. It does not matter what is inside. Nobody counts T-shirts or socks at the lobby, and nobody adds a line for small things.

Here is what your bag gets once the driver brings it to us:

• Opened and sorted, with pockets checked
• Whites, darks and colours kept apart
• Washed in a biodegradable, hypoallergenic detergent
• Dried on a low heat, so cotton keeps its size
• Folded neatly and packed
• Delivered back to Movenpick JLT with no delivery fee

This service does not press clothes. A T-shirt comes back clean and folded, not pressed. Anything that needs to look sharp for a meeting belongs under Clean & Press, where each piece is priced by itself.

Say you have been in Dubai for four days and you fly home tomorrow evening. You message us on WhatsApp with the hotel name, Movenpick JLT, a pin and the time you want the driver. It works like a doorstep laundry pickup, only the door is the hotel lobby or the concierge, if the hotel allows it.

The driver looks through the items with you. A secure payment link is then texted to your phone, and you can pay by debit or credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.

Once the payment goes through, your clothes go out for delivery. You never hand over cash or a card in the lobby, and nothing is paid to the hotel.

Wash and fold is for clothes that only need to be clean and dry. Think of the things people pack in bulk for a trip, and the things they wear every day on a short stay at Movenpick JLT:

• T-shirts and polo shirts
• Jeans, shorts and chinos
• Pyjamas and underwear
• Socks and sports kit
• Gym kit and swimwear
• Children's clothes, if you are travelling as a family

Towels and robes from the room stay with the hotel, so there is no need to send them. Keep anything that needs a sharp finish for the second tab, where it is cleaned and pressed and returned on a hanger.

A few things do not belong in a mixed wash at Movenpick JLT, however strong they look. Keep these out of the bag and ask us about them on WhatsApp:

• Anything marked dry clean only
• Silk, beaded or sequin evening wear
• Suits and structured jackets
• Leather and suede
• Wet items, which should be dried first

Dubai is hot from May to September, with July and August highs above 43°C, and summer humidity averages over 90 per cent. A day outside and a night in a suitcase is enough to make a cotton shirt smell stale.

That is why guests often send more than they expect. A short stay can fill a 6kg bag quickly, once you add gym kit from the 24-hour fitness club and the clothes you wore on the flight.

If you go to the fitness club every day, hand over the sweaty tops with the rest of the washing. They go in with everything else, and they cost nothing extra.

The same goes for shirts worn to an outdoor lunch or a long walk to the metro. Put them in the bag and let the detergent do its job.

The hotel has an outdoor pool, and guests can also use the RIVA beach club on Palm Jumeirah. Either way, you end up with wet swimwear and sandy or damp clothes at the bottom of a bag.

Rinse swimwear if you can, and put it in a plastic bag before you hand it over. Swimwear goes in the wash and fold bag with everything else, and it comes back washed and folded.

Beach towels from the club belong to the club, so do not send them. Your own pool bag, shorts and cover-ups are all fine. If you leave on the same day you swim, book the pickup early, so everything is washed before you pack.

If you stay often, or for several weeks, a plan puts the washing on one monthly bill. It is a budget-friendly wash and fold for anyone who keeps coming back to Movenpick JLT.

• Essential is AED 250 a month, with a bag every week, four in all
• Family is AED 450 a month, with two bags every week, eight in all

A single bag is AED 65, so a plan costs less per bag if you will use the weekly slots. You book plans on WhatsApp, and you can change the pickup day in the same chat.

Standard return is 24 hours, so most bags work like a next-day laundry service. Your booking confirms the time for the pickup and the return.

If you need something back sooner, ask about express. Urgent pieces booked before 2 PM can be back in 5 hours, if your address is covered. Confirm Movenpick JLT with us first, so you do not plan a flight or a dinner around it.

Pickup and return take place at the lobby or concierge, if the hotel allows it. The front desk can tell you whether drivers are allowed in, and the driver waits for you there.

Every piece is handled on its own from start to finish. That is why it is priced on its own, and why nothing is charged by weight.

You land in the afternoon with one creased shirt and a nine o'clock meeting. Message us before 2 PM with the hotel name, Movenpick JLT, and the shirt can come back that evening, if your address is covered.

The driver checks it with you at the lobby or concierge. Then you get the payment link by text, and the shirt goes out once it is paid.

It returns on a hanger in a breathable cover, so it can go straight into the wardrobe in your room.

Traditional clothes are a regular part of what guests at Movenpick JLT send us. Each one has its own price, so the total is clear before you book.

• Kandura, cleaned and steamed full length
• Abaya, plain or delicate
• Ghutra, pressed flat
• Jalabiya for evenings with family
• Kurta, for men or women

Tell the driver if a piece has embroidery or a fine fabric, and keep it in a separate bag. Delicate abayas can take longer, depending on the piece, so book them early if they are for a wedding or a family dinner. Everything comes back on a hanger, not folded in a bag.

A two-piece suit is priced as a set, and a jacket on its own has a separate price. Ties are priced too. At Movenpick JLT, hand a suit over the evening before and it comes back on a hanger. Hang it in a garment bag if you have one.

Clean and press is for pieces that can take water and steam. A dry-clean-only label, a heavily beaded surface or a very fine fabric may need another process.

The driver looks at the piece with you at handover. If it needs dry cleaning, we say so before we start, rather than risk it. Guest dry cleaning is priced separately.

Pressed clothes can crease again on the way from the hotel to the airport. Fold shirts along the existing lines, and put suit jackets on top of the pile, never underneath.

The breathable covers we use can stay on while the clothes hang in the wardrobe at Movenpick JLT. If you are flying, take them off and pack the shirt flat, with the collar facing up.

Standard return is 24 hours. Urgent pieces booked before 2 PM can be back in 5 hours, if your address is covered. That is our express laundry delivery for shirts and suits. Delicate pieces can take longer, and we tell you how long when we collect them.

Guests come to Dubai for weddings and galas as well as for work. A dress, a suit and a kandura all need to arrive in the right state, and Movenpick JLT is the place the driver brings them back to.

Send the outfit the day before, and ask on WhatsApp if it needs to be back by a set time.

Payment is by a secure link texted after the driver checks the items, and the clothes go out once it is paid.
