Doorstep laundry pickup works a little differently in a hotel, because the driver cannot go up to your room. Here is how it goes.

• Message us your name, your room number and a time that suits you.
• Bring the bag down to the lobby or concierge desk, if Fortune Karama Hotel allows it. If you are not sure, ask the front desk first.
• The driver checks every item with you, then sends a secure payment link by text.

It is a contactless pickup and delivery. Nothing is paid in cash, and nothing changes hands except the bag.

Most guests want their clothes back before they check out, so plan around these timings.

• Standard: a bag handed over in the morning is back within 24 hours. Book the pickup on arrival and your clean clothes are ready the next day.
• Express: book before 2 PM and urgent pieces are back in 5 hours, if your address is covered. This works best for a few shirts or a suit, not a full case. It is the quickest way to get express laundry delivery to the lobby.
• Leaving day: message us the evening before and give your check-out time, so the return can be planned around it.

We confirm the time with you before the driver sets off.

Some fabrics do not like a long trip. A good wash fixes a surprising amount.

• Linen creases the moment it is packed. Wash and fold cleans it, and for a sharper finish you can choose Clean & Press instead.
• Jersey and knits are washed gently, so they keep their shape and do not stretch.
• Gym kit gets the same mild detergent as everything else, so the fabric stays soft and does not hold on to smells.

Each piece is checked by hand, cleaned to its care label and steamed before it comes back.

Standard orders return within 24 hours. Delicate pieces such as silk, beaded dresses and embroidered abayas can take longer, because they are cleaned more slowly and checked more closely. How long depends on the piece, and we tell you at pickup. Express is 5 hours if you book before 2 PM and your address is covered. Tell us the date and time you need each piece by, and we will say honestly whether it can be done.

A suit that has spent hours folded in a case needs more than a quick shake out.

• Jacket: steamed on a form, so the shoulders and lapels sit flat and the shape holds.
• Trousers: pressed with a sharp crease if you ask for one.
• Shirt and tie: pressed to match, so you can send the whole outfit in one go.

For a morning meeting, book express before 2 PM the day before, and the driver can bring everything back to Fortune Karama Hotel in time to hang up overnight. Mention any marks on the lapel or cuffs when you book, so we treat them first.

Traditional wear is cleaned and pressed by hand, then returned on hangers or laid flat. Plain abayas are steamed to keep the colour deep and even, and a ghutra is pressed flat on the table. Tell us about any decoration, embroidery or beading when you book, so the right process is used, and mention if the piece is for a particular occasion.

The care label tells us how hot a piece can be pressed, and the dots on the press symbol are the key to it.

• One dot means a cool setting, used for silk, nylon and acetate.
• Two dots means medium, for wool and polyester mixes.
• Three dots means hot, which cotton and linen can take.
• A cross through the symbol means no pressing at all, and we steam from a distance instead.

A circle on the label is about dry cleaning, and a bucket shows the wash. If a piece has no label at all, tell us the fabric. Pieces with no care label are cleaned at your own risk, so say so if you are unsure.

Shoes, handbags and soft toys have their own services, and we collect them with the same pickup from the lobby. Pieces with heavy beading or leather trim are looked at before we accept them, so we can tell you honestly what is possible and how long it takes.

If a shirt is already clean but creased from the suitcase, choose pressing only. We steam and press it without washing, and it comes back on a hanger. It is a good option for linen shirts packed straight from a trip to Fortune Karama Hotel.

If you fly out the same day, tell us when your taxi or driver is due. We aim to bring everything back well before then. Pieces for the flight can come back on hangers, folded in a bag, or ready to slip into a garment bag, whichever you ask for.
