Say you hand over a bag at the hotel lobby after a few days of beach and pool time. Here is what happens to it once the driver has it, step by step, from the lobby to your suitcase.

• Opened and sorted. The bag is emptied on a table and the pockets are checked. Whites, colours and darks go into separate piles, and delicate pieces are set aside.
• Washed to the label. Each pile is washed at the temperature its care label asks for. Swimwear and sports kit go on a gentle setting.
• Dried properly. Clothes are dried on low heat until they are fully dry, not just warm. Damp seams are what make a bag smell stale in humid weather.
• Folded and packed. Everything is folded flat and packed in a clean bag, so it can go straight back into your suitcase.
• Back at the hotel. The driver returns it to the lobby or concierge, if the hotel allows it, within 24 hours.

A day on the beach near The Walk leaves salt, chlorine and sun cream in everything you wore. A few small habits help your swimwear and light clothes look good for the rest of the trip.

• Rinse first. A quick rinse in fresh water takes off most of the sand and salt before the bag is packed.
• Do not leave it wet. Wet swimwear shut in a bag for a day can pick up a sour smell. Send it as soon as you can.
• Tell us about delicate pieces. Wired tops, lace and fine knits can go in the bag, but mention them so we pick a gentle setting.
• Expect it fresh and folded. Swimwear comes back clean, dry and folded with the rest of your wash.

Cover-ups, linen shirts and light dresses can go in the same bag.

Sun cream can leave an orange or yellow tinge on white shirts, especially around the collar. Self-tan can mark sleeves and linen. Neither looks like much until the clothes are dry, which is why it helps to speak up early.

• Tell us when you pack. Write the cause in the chat, or leave a note in the bag. It helps us choose the right treatment.
• Treated before washing. Marks are treated by hand first, because machine heat can set them.
• Do not scrub. Rubbing a fresh mark pushes it into the fabric. Leave it alone and send it to us.
• No promises on old marks. A mark that has been through a hot wash or a week in a suitcase is harder to lift. We will tell you if a piece may not come fully clean.

Hotel gym sessions and morning runs leave sweat in synthetic fabric, and the smell does not always go in a quick rinse. Sports kit needs a different wash from a cotton shirt, and it should not wait in the bag for long.

• Wash soon. Do not leave damp gym kit shut in the bag for days. Send it with your next pickup.
• Gentle on stretch fabric. We wash sports tops and leggings on a setting that protects the stretch.
• Bagged with the rest. Gym kit goes in your normal wash and fold bag, so it adds nothing to the price.

Trainers can go to our shoe care service, which you can add to the same pickup.

A wash and fold bag is priced by weight, not by the piece. That makes it easy to plan, but it helps to know which bag to choose before the driver arrives. Here is a simple way to decide.

• The 6kg bag. This usually suits one person for a few days, or a couple on a short stay. The price is AED 65.
• The 12kg bag. Choose it for a longer trip, a family sharing one bag or heavier items such as jeans and sweatshirts. It costs AED 120.
• Not sure? Pack what you have. If the bag looks heavy, the driver will tell you which size fits before you pay.
• Pressed pieces stay out. Shirts, suits and dresses you want on hangers go in a separate Clean & Press order, so they do not use up your bag.
• Check the pockets. Room keys, cards and receipts are easy to forget in a jacket or a pair of shorts.

Either way, the price is flat, with no hidden fees.

Dubai is humid for much of the year, and damp clothes shut in a bag start to smell within a day. Hotel rooms are small, so washing tends to pile up. A few habits keep it under control.

• Do not hang washing outside. Dubai's balcony rules ban airing laundry outside, and a wash in the sink rarely dries in time.
• Send it early. Book a pickup before the pile gets big. A smaller bag every few days is easier than one huge bag on your last night.
• Keep damp items apart. If a swimsuit is wet, keep it in its own bag until the driver arrives.
• Dry before you pack. Everything comes back fully dry, so it will not smell stale when you open your suitcase at home.

Some guests stay for weeks, for work, a relocation or a long holiday. If that is you, a monthly plan may suit you better than single bags. Here are the options.

• Essential. AED 250 a month for 4 bags, one every week.
• Family. AED 450 a month for 8 bags, two every week.
• Single bag. If you only need one wash, a single 6kg bag is AED 65 with no sign-up.
• Ask first. Tell us how long you are staying at Rixos Premium JBR and we will say which option suits you.

Every bag on a plan gets the same care as a single order.

Laundry that comes back late is the last thing you want on departure day. A little planning means your bag is in your hands before the taxi arrives, and your suitcase is packed with clean clothes.

• Book a day ahead. Standard return is 24 hours, so book the day before you leave.
• Tell us your time. Share your check-out time or flight time in the chat and we will plan the pickup around it.
• Use express if needed. For urgent pieces, express returns them in 5 hours if you book before 2 PM and your address is covered.
• Keep your bag handy. Have your clothes ready at the lobby when the driver arrives, so the handover takes a few minutes.
• Pack the pressed pieces last. Shirts and dresses come back on hangers, so lay them flat on top of your suitcase.

You have a meeting in the morning and the only clean shirt is creased from the suitcase. Send it to Clean & Press this afternoon and this is what happens to it.

• Cleaned first. The shirt is washed, with the collar and cuffs checked, then dried.
• Pressed by hand. It is steam pressed by hand until it is smooth and sharp.
• Hung, not folded. It comes back on a hanger, so it stays smooth until you put it on.
• Order by 2 PM. Book before 2 PM for express and it can be back in 5 hours, if your address is covered.

Send two or three shirts together if you have a few meetings, since each one is priced on its own.

A suit that has been folded in a suitcase needs more than a quick steam. Express suit pressing is built for the days when there is very little time between landing and the event.

• Book before 2 PM. Tell us the time you need the suit back.
• Back in 5 hours. This works where your address is covered.
• Whole suit together. Jacket and trousers are cleaned and pressed as a pair, so the colour matches.

Add a shirt and a tie to the same order and everything arrives together.

Many guests at Rixos Premium JBR travel with traditional dress for family events and weddings. These pieces have their own prices, so you know the cost before you book.

• Kandura. AED 15 each, cleaned, pressed from top to bottom and returned on a hanger.
• Abaya. Everyday abayas have a basic price. Delicate ones with fine fabric or beading are priced separately, so tell us which you have.
• Ghutra and jalabiya. Each is pressed carefully so it holds its shape.
• Kurta. Men's and women's kurtas have separate prices.
• Send them on their own. Hang them or lay them flat in a bag, and do not stack them under heavy clothes.

If you need express, book before 2 PM and tell us the time you need it.

A dress for a gala, a wedding or a dinner often has fine fabric. We check each one by hand before it is cleaned, and we choose the method that suits the fabric.

• Tell us about trim. Beads, sequins and lace need a gentler method.
• Returned on a hanger. It comes back ready to wear.
• Silk and satin. Mention them when you book so we pick the right wash.

Event weekends bring a long list of clothes that all need to look right on the same evening. Plan the order early so nothing arrives late, and so everything comes back together.

• Suits and jackets. Send the full suit, or only the jacket if the trousers are fine.
• Ties and shirts. A tie with a drip on it goes in with the suit. Tell us what caused the mark.
• Dresses and blouses. Silk and fine fabrics are checked by hand first.
• Pick a time. Tell us the evening you need everything and we will work back from it.
• Collect at the lobby. Everything returns on hangers to the lobby or concierge, if the hotel allows it.

Book a day ahead for standard return, or use express for the last few pieces.

Sometimes a shirt is clean but creased from the case. Pressing only skips the wash and gives you a smooth finish, which is useful when you just need to look neat for a meeting or a dinner.

• Shirts, trousers and blouses. These can be steam pressed without being washed.
• Kanduras and abayas. The same goes for traditional wear that is already fresh.
• Priced on its own. Ask in the chat and we will confirm the price for pressing only.

Choose Clean & Press instead when the piece also needs cleaning.

Heading somewhere cold? A coat that has been shut in a wardrobe all summer is worth cleaning before you fly. The Winter coat row in the table shows the price.

• Cleaned and pressed. It comes back on a hanger.
• Book a day ahead. This gives it time to be ready before your flight.

Send it with your other formal pieces in the same pickup.

A few quick checks protect your clothes and help the driver count them with you. They take a minute, and they save questions later.

• Empty the pockets. Keys, cards and receipts are easy to forget.
• Look at the care label. Pieces without a label, or already damaged, are cleaned at the owner's risk.
• Mention special pieces. Tell us about silk, beading or anything with a stain.
• Know the cover. If an item is lost or damaged, cover is up to 10 times the cleaning price of that item.
