As a rule, anything you would put in your own washing machine is fine in our bag. Skip anything carrying a hand-wash or do-not-wash label. A bag from Muhaisnah could include:

Every Muhaisnah load is sorted before washing and drying. Here is what we do.

• Colour care: fresh-out-of-the-shop dark denim and bright tees may bleed colour for their first few washes, so whites are kept apart.
• Weight care: zips and heavy denim can scuff thin tops into bobbles, so they are washed separately.
• One machine, one customer: your drum is never shared.
• Sanitised drums: we sanitise after every load, ahead of the next customer's load.
• Detergent: we use a commercial-grade detergent that is biodegradable and hypoallergenic, and rinse it out well, because leftover soap irritates skin in a hot, humid summer.
• Gentle drying: heat shrinks cotton and slackens elastic, so we dry low and check cuffs, seams and waistbands by touch before folding.

A simple test: will it crease after hours at a desk? If it will, clean and press suits it. In Muhaisnah homes that often means:

• Work shirts: poplin, twill or oxford, starting with the collar.
• Blouses and skirts: fine cotton, crepe and viscose wrinkle fast and hang better.
• Suits and chinos: commonly wool or cotton blends. We steam jackets on a body form to keep lapels flat.
• Kanduras and thobes: mostly white cotton or poly-cotton, steamed until the front falls straight.
• Ghutras: smoothed flat on a table, so you can fold them as you prefer.

• Kurta sets: the top and trousers are kept as one order.
• School shirts: handy before a photo day, when collars need to look sharp.

• Washed already, only creased? Pressing takes out creases with no second wash.

On a care label, one to three dots show how much heat the fabric takes. Our steamer is set to match, and never higher. Three dots, used for cotton and linen, is around 200°C. Two dots, covering wool, silk and polyester mixes, is around 150°C. One dot, for synthetics like acrylic, is around 110°C. A crossed-out symbol means we only steam.

• Dark crepe, steam only: a black abaya or dark trousers never touch a hot plate, which could leave a shine.
• Extra care on collars and cuffs, the parts people see first.
• We remember your creases: a sharp line, a soft one, none, or a fold to pack, noted on your ticket for next time.
• Breathable covers: summer humidity in Dubai can average over 90%, and a plastic bag would keep that damp against the cloth. Ours keep out dust and let moisture escape during the drive back to Muhaisnah.

• Coffee and lunch: coffee or sauce dripped on a shirt at work. Say what it was.
• Yellowing collars: Dubai summers pass 43°C, and that heat marks white collars and kandura necklines with sweat. The sooner we get them, the better they clean.
• Deodorant: white streaks appear on dark cloth and yellow ones on light cloth, and we need to know which.
• Oud and perfume oil: pale cotton may keep a ring. Point to it and name the oil.
• Other requests: skip the crease, fold for a trip, or fix a button. Put it in the chat.

The price of each item pays for collection from your Muhaisnah home, the wash, and the trip home. Small items get as much attention as big ones, though a pillowcase dries sooner.

• Hand check: edges, seams and any stain you mentioned.
• Your own sanitised machine: no other home's bedding joins yours. A duvet must have room in the drum; squeezed in, it just gets wet on the surface.

A duvet or comforter of any size, single to king, is AED 56. Each kind gets its own handling.

• Duvet: the filled inner plus a detachable cover. We price and wash the cover separately.
• Comforter: a patterned, stitched quilt used with no cover. Its pockets dry at different speeds, so every pocket is checked.
• Blanket: AED 26 for standard size, more for larger ones.
• Bedcover: AED 29. It sits on top of the bed and collects dust, including sand carried by the shamal wind. Tell us about any fringe, tassels or beads.

Torn seam, or filling escaping? Send a photo before booking and we will say if washing is safe.

In hot weather bed linen is changed much more often than a duvet, so sheets and pillowcases wear out first.

• Sheets: AED 25 each, flat or fitted. Check inside fitted sheets first, since odd socks end up in the corners.
• Pillowcases: AED 9. Oils from hair and skin creams soak into cotton and leave greasy marks. Show us where, but don't scrub.
• Pillows: AED 19 each. Squash a pillow flat, then let go. One that stays flat has tired filling, and washing can't restore it. Memory foam can't be washed.
• Mattress protectors: AED 35. A waterproof backing can be damaged by heat, so photograph the label and send it before booking.

A towel costs AED 7 and a bathrobe AED 19. Soap left in a towel makes it stiff, so ours get two rinses and a full dry.

• Pool towels: send them straight away, since a wet towel sitting in a bag overnight gets smelly.
• Gym towels: a small towel from a workout is soon sweaty, so let it air before it goes in.
• Bathrobes: collars are thick and dry last, so we feel them again before folding. Thread the belt into a sleeve so it doesn't go missing.
• Sofa covers: AED 46 each for a standard zip-off cover. Note which cushion each belongs to before taking them off, and brush off any pet hair first.
• Tablecloths: AED 19. If something was spilt, let it dry and tell us what it was: juice, oil or sauce.

Don't pack damp towels with a duvet. Dubai's humid summer lets moisture travel into the filling quickly.

Some things aren't safe in any washing machine. Leave these at home in Muhaisnah:

• Electric blankets, and anything else with a cable or plug.
• Weighted blankets filled with glass or plastic beads.
• Pillows and mattress toppers made of memory foam.
• Anything whose label says do not wash. If unsure, WhatsApp us the label and we will reply before the driver sets out.

Drying is the slowest part of duvet and comforter laundering. A cover dries fast, but the filling holds water. Whether filled with down, feather or polyester, the middle stays wet for hours, and a duvet stored slightly damp turns musty. Air conditioning won't fix that.

• Allow 48 to 72 hours: that is the time thick bedding from Muhaisnah spends with us, because the centre has to dry as well as the surface.
