The bag is for everyday clothes that can be washed together and folded. Good things to pack from Dubai Design District:

Every bag from Dubai Design District is sorted before it is washed. This is what we look at.

• Colour: whites, lights and darks go in separate loads, so a new dark T-shirt can't tint your white shirts.
• Fabric: cotton, polyester and stretchy sportswear each get a suitable cycle and temperature.
• Labels: we follow the care label on each piece.
• Stains: treated by hand before the wash, because hot water can set some marks.
• Detergent: commercial-grade, biodegradable and hypoallergenic.
• Drying: a moderate heat, so cotton keeps its size and waistbands keep their stretch.

• New homes: as the towers open, we collect from your door or from the concierge desk if your tower has one.
• Building number: tell us which one you're in, as the first phase runs from Building 1 to Building 11.
• Nearby: we also collect in Business Bay and Downtown Dubai.

Pickup and delivery are free whichever of these fits you.

If you send laundry every week from Dubai Design District, a monthly plan costs less than booking single bags.

• Essential: AED 250 a month for four bags, one each week.
• Family: AED 450 a month for eight bags, two each week.

Every piece from Dubai Design District is checked against its care label. Here is what the common symbols tell us, and what you can check at home.

• A tub with a hand: hand wash only, so we use a gentle method.
• A circle: the piece can be dry cleaned; a crossed-out circle means it can't.
• An iron symbol: the number of dots shows how hot it can be pressed.
• A triangle: bleach is allowed; crossed out, it means no bleach.
• A square with a circle inside: tumble drying is allowed.
• A square with a line: dry it on a line or lay it flat, not in a dryer.

If a label is missing or faded, tell us. We will ask you about the fabric before we start, so nothing is cleaned the wrong way.

Don't rub a fresh stain hard or pour hot water on it. Blot it gently and leave the rest to us. If you have already tried something on it, tell us what, so our treatment doesn't clash with it.

Thick bedding is the hardest thing to wash at home. Duvet and comforter laundering needs a big machine and a long, even dry, so the filling doesn't stay damp in the middle.

Allow 48 to 72 hours for these. Check the care label before you send a down or feather duvet, and tell us if it says dry clean only. For homes in Dubai Design District, pickup is free.

A duvet dries best in a large machine with room to turn. At home, the middle can stay damp and smell musty, which is the main reason to send it out.

Everyday bed linen comes back quicker than thick bedding: within 24 hours across most of Dubai.

• Pillow: AED 19, if the label says it can be washed.
