If it is safe in your washing machine at home, it is safe in our bag. Items labelled hand wash only or do not wash should stay out. Bags from Al Muraqqabat usually contain:

A few minutes of sorting protects your clothes through the whole wash. These are the problems we try to prevent.

• Colour run: vivid cotton and new jeans can bleed early on, so they never touch whites.
• Scratchy fabrics: denim and metal zips can scrape delicate cloth, so they are washed separately.
• No sharing: two customers' clothes are never in the same drum.
• Clean drums: each one is sanitised before the next load.
• Commercial-grade detergent: hypoallergenic and biodegradable. Sports kit gets a longer rinse to clear sweat from the seams.
• Drying with care: excess heat shrinks cotton and tires elastic. Damp cuffs and waistbands smell, so we check them before folding.
• Final inspection: if a button is loose or a mark has stayed, we message you on WhatsApp before sending the bag back.

Choose clean and press for anything that looks better hanging. Usually that is:

• Office shirts: poplin, oxford or twill cotton, starting with the collar.
• Linen: shirts and trousers wrinkle quickly, and steam smooths them out.
• Blouses and skirts: crepe and viscose crumple when folded, so they return hanging.
• Suits and chinos: normally wool or cotton blends. A jacket form keeps the lapels flat.
• Kanduras and thobes: white cotton or blends, with the front steamed smooth.
• Ghutras: laid out flat, ready for you to fold how you like.
• Abayas and jalabiyas: steaming alone keeps black crepe and georgette even in colour. For a shayla, ask us for the price.
• Kurta sets: top and trousers return together.

• Already clean, just wrinkled? Pressing removes the creases without another wash.
• Silk, lace, thick wool, beading or sequins? Choose dry cleaning, which is gentler than water.
• Only T-shirts, sports kit, socks and nightwear? That is a job for a Wash & Fold bag.

Check the iron symbol on a label. One dot is low heat, two is medium and three is hot, and we always stay under the limit. Three dots means up to about 200°C and suits cotton and linen. Two dots, around 150°C, suits wool, silk and polyester mixes. One dot, near 110°C, suits synthetics like acrylic. An iron with a cross through it means steam only, with nothing hot touching the fabric.

• Dark crepe: a hot plate can polish black cloth until it shines, so black abayas and dark trousers are steamed only.
• Collars and cuffs: we spend longest here, since people look at them first.
• Your preferred crease: sharp, soft, none or flat for packing. We keep a note for next time.

• Food or drink: coffee, tea, sauce or wine. Tell us which.
• Cosmetics: foundation or lipstick on a collar. Show us where.
• Perspiration: in the heat it yellows white collars and kandura necklines. Recent marks lift more easily.
• Deodorant: it leaves white marks on dark cloth and yellow ones on pale cloth, and each needs its own treatment.
• Perfume oil and oud: even one drop can mark white or cream cotton. Point out the area and the oil, if known.

Our price covers collection from Al Muraqqabat, the wash and the delivery. With our bed linen wash and fold, sheets and pillowcases come back dry and neatly folded. A pillowcase gets the same care as a duvet, but dries quicker.

Any duvet or comforter from Al Muraqqabat costs AED 56, from single to king. Each type is handled differently.

• Duvet: the soft inner part. Its cover counts as another item and is washed separately.
• Comforter: quilted throughout and used without a cover. Every quilted section dries at a different speed, so we check them in turn.
• Blanket: a standard blanket is AED 26. Larger ones are more.
• Bedcover: AED 29. Bedcovers gather the most dust, and the summer shamal brings fine sand. Tell us about fringes, tassels or beads.

Noticed a torn seam or stuffing escaping? A photo before you book lets us advise you.

People swap sheets and pillowcases more often in hot weather than they swap duvets, so these wear out first.

• Bed sheets: AED 25 each, fitted or flat. Shake out the corners, where socks and earrings get stuck.
• Pillowcases: AED 9 each. Do not scrub greasy spots from cream, make-up or hair oil. Show us instead.
• Pillows: AED 19 each. A wash cannot plump a lumpy pillow, and memory foam must stay out of water.
• Mattress protectors: AED 35 each. The waterproof layer reacts to heat, so photograph the label for us.

For bedding from several bedrooms, write each room on its set.

A towel is AED 7 and a bathrobe AED 19. Towels are rinsed twice and dried for a long time, because soap left in the fibres makes them stiff.

• Bath and pool towels: a wet towel in a bag overnight turns sour, so book soon after use.
• Gym towels: hang them up for a while first, since sweat sticks to the cloth.
• Bathrobes: the collar is thick and dries last, so we re-check it. Knot the belt so it stays with its robe.
• Sofa covers: AED 46 for a regular zip-off cover. Label the cushions and shake off pet hair.
• Tablecloths: AED 19 each. If the mark is wine or coffee, tell us and avoid rubbing it.

Humid air makes a duvet absorb moisture, so a damp towel should never share a bag with one.

A machine would damage the following, so please keep them out of your Al Muraqqabat bedding bag:

• Electric blankets and warming throws, or anything with a cable or plug.
• Weighted blankets that contain heavy beads.
• Memory foam pillows and mattress toppers.
• Anything labelled do not wash. Send a photo if in doubt and we will answer before collecting.

With duvet and comforter laundering, drying is the slow part. Covers dry quickly. Fillings of feather, down or polyester take hours, and any dampness left inside will go musty in a cupboard.

• 48 to 72 hours: thick bedding from Al Muraqqabat stays that long, so the centre is as dry as the edges.
• The return day: we fix it with you on WhatsApp once you have booked.
